The highest authority of CES is the National Congress and the governing body is the council and
the standing council. Since its establishment, seven council elections had been held. The current
7th council (2010- ) is consisted of 161 directors including 58 standing directors. There are one
headquarter, eight committees and 48 professional boards. It also keeps in close touch with 17
provincial and municipal societies. By now, CES has over 50.000 personal members including
2.000 senior personal members and more than 1500 organization members. The council members
are all accomplished persons from both academia and enterprise in Chinese Electrical science and
technology areas, and there are 11 academicians among them. Many research institutions, colleges
& universities, enterprises and corporations are also organization members and governing units of

construction of innovation-oriented nation and the building of the harmonious socialist society.

Depending on the organization system and talent advantages, CES actively extends international
academic exchanges. We have got the international cooperation with relevant associations such
as Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), Electric Vehicle Association of Asia
Pacific (EVAAP), Korean Electrical Manufacturers' Cooperative (KEMC), Korean Institute of
Electrical Engineers (KIEE), Institute Of Energy Economics Japan (IEEJ), Short-circuit Testing
Liasion (STL), etc. Every year, over 100 academic exchange activities have been organized, and
regular annual academic conferences and series of international conferences have been hosted
by CES, such as International Conference on Power Electronics & Motion Control, International
Conference on Electrical Machine and Control Systems, International Conference on Engineering
Dielectric, International Electromagnetic Field Conference. Among them, 16th World Battery,
Hybrid and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS16) and 25th World Battery and Hybrid and
Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS25) had great influence and signification both at home
and abroad.
With given qualifications of international economic and technical exhibitions by Ministry Of
Commerce and Ministry of Science and Technology, CES had successfully hosted various
exhibitions, i.e. International Exhibition on Electrical Equipment, International Exhibition on Power
Electronics, Electrical Drive and Industry Automation, International Exhibition on EMC and the
16th and 25th World Battery, Hybrid and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle Exhibitions, which had played
an important role in promoting the combinations of industry, academy, research and application.
For many years, CES adheres to disseminating electrotechnology knowledge as its duty,
popularizes electrotechnology for the public, hosts science popularization day and science lectures,
edits and publishes science publications "Series of New-high Electrotechnology' and other popular
science readings edited by CES are popular among the readers With the spirit of "State Council
Decisions on speeding up the cultivation and development of strategic emerging industries of great
importance", we also implemented the science popularization programs, ie : "Science
Popularization Package of New Energy Vehicle' and "Innovation Achievements Science
Popularization Materials of Photovoltaic Generation Industry", etc.
The publications hosted by CES include "Transactions of China Electrotechnical Society",
"Electrical Engineering" and "CES Newsletters", etc CES has also compiled books such as "The
Development history of China Electrical Equipment Industry", "Electrotechnical Terminology" and
"China Electrical Engineering Canon", etc., integrating professional handbook with monograph
Among them, "Chine Electrical Engineering Canon" is a comprehensive technical book accepted
by industry Now over 20 electrotechnical periodicals have been edited and published by the
subordinated technical institution of CES.
