Matthew 21:22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. John 14:13-14 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. Always & With Thanksgiving Philippians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Don’t pray when you feel like it. Have an appointment with the Lord and keep it. Chaplain’s Corner— Larry Pillow Sometimes daily activities can feel more like drudgery than delight. When you see dirty dishes needing washed, a cluttered room needing cleaned or it’s time to go to work, it’s easy to think, “I’ve got to wash the dishes or I’ve got to clean up the clutter, or I’ve got to go to work.” In fact sometimes when you know you need to pray or read your Bible you may even think, “I’ve got to have my quiet time.” Try changing your thinking from “I’ve got to do this” to “I get to do this.” This slight shift in thinking makes chores easier, your day brighter or your time with the Lord more enjoyable. Try it. Especially if you need to do something you dread or dislike doing but know you need to do. You can glorify God whether doing a menial task or a meaningful task. Think of either or both as divine assignments. In fact, a grateful spirit turns the mundane into meaningful.
