Thank you for purchasing HID PLUS series. Read this manual prior to installing and using the system in order to ensure 100% performance of the equipment. Read the manual carefully and install the equipment correctly after fully understanding the manual.

Furthermore, make sure to read CAUTION so that the equipment can be used in most effective way. This manual also serves as a warranty. Keep this manual in a proper place.

CAUTION IN USE

1.Do not touch HID Bulb, Ballast and Cord after turning on the system.

This equipment generates 20,000 voltage while it remains turned on. Never touch HID Bulb, ballast and cord when HID Bulb turns on, as it might cause burns or fatal accidents by the electric-shock.

2. Do not turn on/turn off frequently.

If the equipment is turned on or turned off repeatedly, the life span of the bulb may be reduced, or an error may occur when the equipment is turned on. It may also cause damage to the system.

※ If the switch is turned on and off repeatedly at a short interval, sometimes the HID bulb will not turn on. It is an indication that the safety circuit is activated on the ballast and it is not a fault. Wait for a while and turn on the system again.

3.When you find any damage to this equipment or equipment fault

Upon discovering any damage to ballast or failure while you are using HID Bulb, stop using this equipment, and contact the store or maintenance shop for assistance. Never use the system until the problem is solved as the electric-shock may lead to burns or death.

4.When HID turns off while you are using it.

When the HID turns off while you are using it, move the vehicle to a safe place immediately. Turn off the head lamp switch and turn it on again after a few seconds. If this does not correct the trouble, Turn off the light switches other than the Hazard Lamp, and turn the light on again after approximately 15 minutes. If the bulb turns on in normal condition, it indicates the aforementioned trouble was not an error but is a situation that occurs when safety circuit is activated. You can continue using the device.

※ If there is no improvement or otherwise problems continue, contact the store where you purchase the equipment or the maintenance shop.

5.Adjusting optical axis

The HID Bulb of this equipment is brighter than Halogen bulb. For this reason, if the optical axis is not in an appropriate location, it may blur the approaching vehicle leading to an accident.

Adjust optical axis correctly at a shop operating correct facilities.

CAUTION : The following are important items that you must check prior to installing equipment.

Installing Equipment

As this equipment uses a device that generates high-voltage, a danger accompanies when installing the device. When it is necessary to install equipment or change the bulb, install the equipment at a vehicle electrical system repair shop or maintenance shop. Never attempt to install the equipment by yourself.

Safety Caution

(For use by installing shop)

If you drop or otherwise damage HID Bulb or Ballast, stop working immediately and do not use the equipment. It may lead to serious fault.

If you discover any damage on the HID Bulb, ballast and/or cord, immediately stop installing this equipment as it might cause burns or

■ fatal accident by the electric-shock.

Do not use wet hands or oil-stained hands when installing or inspecting the system as it might cause burns or fatal accident by the electric-

■ shock.

Do not use your eyes near the lamp or bulb for a long period of time as it might cause sour eyes or cause visual handicap in worst cases.

Do not drop, or apply unreasonable force to the bulb, or do not cause scratches on the bulb. It might cause damage to the system or bodily injuries. It might also provide causes of reduced life span or performance deterioration.

Tighten connectors positively. Loose connectors might create discharge arc, which may provide causes of smoke or fire.

Do not move this equipment by holding the connector or harness as such act might provide causes of trouble.

Do not turn on bulb outside the lamp (except when it is necessary to check whether turner is turned on). To prevent fire, do not turn on the bulb near flammable articles.

Please note that this company shall not be held liable in any way for any trouble that occur as a result of working on the harness and connectors of the high-voltage part or as a result of installing a system other than this equipment.

Install the equipment on a flat place in a wide space.

When you have to work while touching the bulb, remove oil with alcohol from the part which makes contact with the bulb.

Prior to mounting the bulb, check the shape of the hook and the direction of the bulb so that the bulb can be mounted in normal condition.

Read also the section Caution(for customer use) 」 at the back of the manual.

Checking products

Prior to installing equipment, check HID Bulb Unit, Ballast Unit and HID Harness for any signs of damage. Do not use the comp onents if any faults are discovered.

Checking whether the system can be installed (Checking the interior size of Lamp)

This equipment ’ size does not fit inside the lamp. Also, the bulb of this equipment cannot be installed on certain type of vehicles. If the bulb requires some working prior to installing it on a vehicle, contact the store where you bought the system.

In case part A is 15mm or less, and part B, 56mm or less.

※ Sometimes the light emitting part of the bulb displays misty phenomenon; however, such phenomenon has occurred when the maker checked the system to see if it turns on satisfactorily, and there is no problem at all as to quality and performance.

About vehicles with the head lamp light sensing system attached

This equipment does not respond to the head lamp light sensing system.

Remove the head lamp light sensing system prior to installing the system.

The following cases are not failure.

<The color on the left and right side of lamp is different from each other when the lamp is turned on. >

Sometimes, some difference of color occurs due to the characteristics of products. In case there is a serious difference between the colors even though the lamp is in a stabilized condition, contact dealers or this company.

<The color of lamp changes immediately after it is turned on. >

The color of HID Bulb changes immediately after it is turned on due to the characteristics of the system.

<Noise from the ballast >

This noise is generated when voltage is being controlled.

<Unsatisfactory turning on of lamp when it is turned on/turned off repeatedly.>

When the lamp is turned on/turned off repeatedly, sometimes the lamp will not turn on when the ballast safety circuit is activated; however, it is not a failure if the lamp turns on after a few seconds.

<Lamp failure >

If engine is started after the lamp is turned on, the lamp light might distributed or might turn off; however, this is caused by the voltage drop and is not a failure. When the lamp turns off, turn the lamp switch OFF, and then turn ON again.

<Noise from radio >

Due to the structural characteristics, sometimes noise is generated from audio equipment or radio. The degree of noise differs depending on the type of vehicle or audio sets.

Danger

• Never touch HID Bulb or ballast when the system is turned on as i might cause burns or fatal accidents by the electric-shock.

(1) Adjust optical axis. ※ Adjust optical axis correctly at a well-equipped place.

CAUTION

• The HID Bulb of this equipment is brighter than Halogen Bulb. For this reason, if the optical axis is not in an appropriate location, it may blur the approaching vehicle leading to an accident.

(2) Set the memory of the radio and clock.

Checking the status of lamp prior to installing

Turning on prior to installing

Provisionally assemble parts and trial turn on the system (to check for satisfactory turning on), and fix the system firmly. Test turn on lamp

(checking operation) according to the method if connecting explained later and check the status of lamp (operation check) prior to installing the system.

Simple operation check

Temporarily fasten each part prior to fixed them. This is an important process to ensure safety and prevent trouble by checking whether the system is satisfactorily operating prior to firmly fixing each part. Do not skip this process of simple test prior to installing the system.

CAUTION

• Do not turn on for a period of 5 seconds or more.

• The bulb is hot after turned on. Do not touch it until after it is cooled down.

• After the bulb is turned on, do not look at it near the bulb.

• Do not touch HID Bulb, Ballast and cord after turning on the system.

It might cause burns or fatal accidents by the electric-shock.

Read the following cautionary items for safe and firm installation.

Read the manual carefully and install the equipment correctly after fully understanding the manual.

Any problems that occur as a result of failure to take precautions described in this manual shall be excluded from objects of claims.

Always observe items under Danger ” Warning ” “ Caution ” in this manual.

To prevent short circuits, remove the ⊖ terminal of the battery.

Do not pull or clamp the rear harness to install bolts and/or nuts.

Prior to making a mounting hole make sure that there are not any obstacles on the rear side.

Do not pull. Do not pull the harness strongly. It might cause the Harness to be separated of wire disconnection.

Do not pull the lead wire of the connector but hold the connector body and release the lock.

Connect the connector or terminal positively.

Connect positively.

Fix the harness or lead wire with tie-wrap. To prevent them from shaking, and cut off the remainder of the tie-wrap.

Prior to connecting the ⊖ terminal of the battery, check one more time if there is any failure on the wiring or installation. Check

CAUTION

When you remove any parts from the vehicle for maintenance or other works, see the maintenance manual of the vehicle.

Select a place with sufficient strength and install the system positively. Loose installing might cause the part to be removed or cause damage to the vehicle.

Never dismantle the HID bulb and/or ballast as it might cause burns or fatal accident by the electric-shock.

Install the system according to the instruction given by this manual. Remember that electric-shock may cause burns or fatal accident, and the heat or short-circuit might damage the lighting system or cause fire on the vehicle.

CAUTION when installing on vehicles with genuine shade attached.

On some vehicles, the H4 Action Mirror meets the genuine shade when Hi is activated. In case of about 80% of operating range, it almost satisfies the angle of irradiation. However, the company does not take any responsibility relating to the results of vehicle inspection.

Loosen the Normal bulb and install HID Bulb accurately and positively. If a waterproof rubber is available, mount it positively.

The Figure describes the operation of the headlight on one side.

The headlight on the other side works in the same way.

Installing Relay Wire

(For exclusive use by the installing shop)

(1)Using 6mm bolts, install relays on the vehicle in an appropriate place.

(2)For loose harness, use tie-wrap or vinyl tape to tighten it properly.

CAUTION

• Avoid the moving part or hot part when installing the harness.

• As much as possible, fix relay in such a way that the connector faces downward.

• Install relays in a place free of water. Water inside the system may lead to malfunction.

• Ground the conversion connector A positively. Failure to do so might lead to operating error.

The Figure describes the operation of the headlight on one side.

The headlight on the other side works in the same way.

(1) Select a place where the wiring is not pulled or unreasonable force is apply to the wiring, and firmly fasten the ② Ballast to the vehicle.

(2) Peel off the paper from the ⑥ Urethane Sheet, and press it to the bottom of the ballast.

(3) Install the ballast on a flat ground. (To install, drill a hole measuring about 3mm in diameter, and fix with the ⑨ Steel plate Vis.)

※ If the fixing status is weak, use a tie-wrap and the like to firmly fix the system.

CAUTION

• Select a dry place free of water, and install ② Ballast.

• Avoid the moving part or hot part when installing ②

Ballast.

(1) Select a place where the wiring is not pulled or unreasonable force is apply to the wiring and firmly fasten the

(2) Peel off the paper from the ⑦ Urethane Sheet and press it to the bottom of the control box.

Installing HID Bulb for the Rubber dust cover type.

1)Insert the Rubber cap in(A) of H4 bulb.

2)Mount it on the Head Lamp.

3)Insert the(B) of H4 Bulb in the (as the picture of A-1) of

H4 bulb and turn right the (B)

CAUTION

• Install HID Bulb carefully. Failure to take precaution may cause the edge to damage the head lamp or to the

HID bulb.

4)Install the Rubber cap in the Head Lamp

Danger

• If the rubber cap is not properly mounted, waterproofing effects cannot be obtained. Infiltration by water might cause burns or fatal accidents due to electric-shock.

Installing HID H4 Bulb for the Plastic dust cover type.

1)Open the Plastic dust cover and make a hole in the Plastic cover.( Φ 52)

2)Install H4 Bulb in the Head Lamp.

3)Install the Rubber cap (C) in the plastic cover.

4)Install the plastic cover in the Head lamps and pull out the wire harness.

In case the plastic dust cover type, use additional

Rubber cap(C).

Do not turn on/turn off frequently in the preocess of testing after installed. Do not turn on the high/low switch at the same time in the process of testing after installed.

If the equipment is turned on or turned off repeatedly, the life span of the bulb mat be reduced, or an equipment occur when the equipment is turned on, It may also cause damage to the system.

Installing genuine waterproof rubber cap

1. Installing genuine waterproof rubber cap

Prior to connecting harness, pass the genuine waterproof rubber cap through the H4 Bulb Unit.

2. Connecting Coupler

The Harness Coupler of each unit carries different colors for classification. The coupler is designed in such a way that accurate connection can be realized by connecting the same color couplers. Connect couplers correctly.

3. CAUTION when checking the status of lamps

(1) Do not connect Harness coupler to all couplers on the left and right side of the vehicle.

Checking right side light

(2) First, connect only the right side.

(3) Turn on the light switch to switch on Lo side.

※ In case HID turns on at this time and the Action Mirror operates simultaneously (Hi side activated), pull out the right side control conversion diode and insert it in the opposite direction. (Insert the diode in the opposite direction of the white arrow of the diode.)

(4) When the right side lamp operates satisfactorily, check all other items for proper installation and complete the right side work.

Checking left Light

(5) Connect the left side Harness Coupler with the coupler on the vehicle side.

Using the Light switch, turn on Lo side.

※ In case HID turns on at this time and the Action Mirror operates simultaneously (Hi side activated), pull out the left side control conversion diode and insert it in the opposite direction. (Insert the diode in the opposite direction of the white arrow of the diode.)

Lo

The following symptoms indicate lighting error.

1.

In case Light switch is Lo

→ HID turns on satisfactorily/action mirror activated.

2.

In case Light switch is Hi

→ HID does not turn on satisfactorily /Action Mirror not activated.

This indicates that diode should be inserted in the opposite direction.

The following symptoms indicate satisfactory operation.

1.

In case Light switch is Lo

→ HID turns on satisfactorily/action mirror not activated.

2.

In case Light switch is Hi

→ HID turns on satisfactorily /Action Mirror activated.

In such case, the diode need not re-inserted.

Changing D2R, D2S, D2RS

(genuine HID Bulb)

1. Installing D2R, D2S, D2RS Bulb

1. To install D2R, D2S, D2RS Bulb Unit, simply change it with the genuine bulb installed on the vehicle. However, installing the system must be requested to a maintenance shop or an agent for satisfactory installing.

This describes the operation of the headlight on one side.

The headlight on the other side works in the same way.

Caution

(For customer use)

This manual contains important items that require caution when using this equipment. In case the equipment is transferred to someone else transfer this manual together with the equipment.

Always check the following before operation.

1.Visually check to see if the brightness of the lamp is sufficient, or if the direction of irradiation is correct.

2.Check the lamp lens for any signs of damage or cracks. Using hands, check the equipment to determine if it has been installed correctly. Take precaution at this time as there is a danger of burn if you touch the lamp immediately after it is turned on or while the lamp remained turned on.

※ Bulbs are expendables. To avoid any trouble during operation, replace the lamp on a regular basis.

This equipment is designed exclusively for H1, H3, H4, H4Hi/Low, H7, H8/H11, 9004, 9005, 9006, 9007, D2R, D2S, D2RS genuine HID. Never use this equipment for other systems.

Install the system at the store or at a maintenance shop.

Adjust the optical axis of the lamp in the right direction at a well-equipped place.

If water is sprinkled at the lamp lens or if a car washer is used immediately after the lamp is turned on or off, lens might burst in some cases. Take necessary precautions. If large amount of water or snow gets on the lens while driving a vehicle with lamp turned on, sometimes the lens also breaks.

As the bulb glass is heated, oils or dusts on the glass may adversely affect the performance and the life span of the lamp. If the glass is stained, use a piece of sanitary cotton and alcohol to clean the stained part.

Danger < Caution on High-voltage electric-shock Do not disassemble >

If it is necessary to remove the Connector, Bulb Connector and Bulb to replace the bulb, turn off the power, and remove the ⊕ terminal of the battery. This is to prevent burns or fatal accidents by electric-shock.

This equipment generates high-voltage, so use rubber gloves during operation. This is to prevent burns or fatal accidents by electric-shock.

To prevent burns or fatal accidents by electric-shock, do not work with wet hands or oil-stained hands.

Do not sprinkle water on the lamp or do not put the lamp in water. It may cause malfunction, burns or fatal accidents due to electric-shock.

Do not touch bulb, ballast, or cord while the power switch is on. This is to prevent burns or fatal accidents by electric-

● shock.

Never disassemble Bulb and/or Ballast to prevent burns or critical accidents caused by electric-shock.

To prevent burns or fatal accidents by electric-shock, never modify circuits or harness.

To prevent burns or fatal accidents by electric-shock, do not check circuits with a tester.

This equipment uses precision electronic circuits and generates high-voltage. Do not drop HID Bulb or Ballast, or do not pull the wiring too hard. This is to prevent burns or fatal accidents by electric-shock.

To prevent burns or critical accidents by electric-shock, if you drop HID Bulb or Ballast, immediately stop installing or using them.

Also to prevent burns or fatal accidents by electric-shock, immediately stop installing or using this equipment if you discover any damage on HID Bulb, ballast and cord.

Warning

Use only the designated bulb.

The Lamp, Bulb, Coupler and Harness remain hot immediately after the lamp is turned on or off. Touching them with hands might cause burns.

To prevent fire, do not leave flammable materials such as paper or cloth near the lamp.

Do not look at the lamp or bulb for a long period of time after they turn on. It may cause pain in the eyes or may render causes of eyesight disorder.

Prior to replacing bulb, check the rated volt and watt, shape of the hook, and the position of sockets, bulb and wiring so that the bulb can be mounted positively. This is to prevent damage caused by fall or burns.

Make sure that part of the lighting or code does not make contact with the bulb when replacing it. It may cause overheating.

Install the insulation cover positively when installing the terminal. Be sure that there is no cuts or twist of the code.

Otherwise, it may cause overheating or fires.

Lamp is heated, while it is on or immediately after turned off. To prevent possible burns, turn off power supply and wait until the lamp is cooled prior to starting work on the lamp.

The pressure inside the glass bulb is very high. Do not drop, let it strike with other articles, apply unreasonable force or do not scratch. After the bulb is used, do not break it but discard it as is to prevent the shattered glasses from injuring persons.

CAUTION

If the lamp is turned on consecutively when the engine stops or otherwise when the car makes a stop, battery consumption might increase. Take precaution.

If the voltage increases after engine is started, bulb might be cut. Do not turn on the bulb immediately after engine is started.

If the vehicle voltage is high, sometimes the bulb is cut frequently.

If the fuse is burned out while you are using the lamp, check and remove the causes, and replace fuses.

Any problems occurring due to improper use, modification or combining with products manufactured by other companies shall be excluded from being eligible for claim under any circumstances. Take precautions.

We are doing what we can to assure quality products. If any product shows trouble due to the manufacturing defects or damage during shipment, such products shall be replaced with new products. However, the company shall not be held liable for such failure.
