The Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board’s Internship Program is a grant funded program that helps match local, private-sector employers with undergraduate students ages 16-24 who reside in Wayne, Ontario, Seneca or Yates County. All are paid internship opportunities and must last a minimum of 120 hours. Additionally, college credit for these internships can sometimes be obtained with approval from the student’s college internship coordinator or academic advisor. The INTERNSHIP PROGRAM currently has several, exceptional college students available for short-term internships. These are career-focused students who are maintaining high GPA’s and are attending college for their undergraduate degrees. The Internship Program requires that you, the employer, pay the student intern at least minimum wage ($7.25/hr) for a period of 120 total hours. After that time, you have the option of terminating the relationship as complete, retaining the student as an employee, or requesting the student back for summer or school break employment. Below are some of the students who have recently applied with us and are eager to utilize their skills to receive hands-on experience at your place of business.
