Drawing Activity
Encourage students to think about what takes away their pouts!
Draw a picture in the space below, and cut out the frames to hang
around the classroom as a reminder of happy thoughts!
When I think I feel a pout, instead I like to think about

Cut out the fish on the lines below and give the (1) pieces to half of the students
and the (2) pieces to the other half. Then have students find the classmate
holding the word that rhymes with theirs to form a complete fish.

Counting
Activity
• Attach a piece of string or yarn to a stick or dowel
to make a fishing pole, and tie a strong magnet to
the loose end of the string.
• Color the fish shapes below and cut them out.
Laminate them, and add a paper clip by the
mouth of each.
• Laying all the fish on the floor, have students
“go fishing” with the magnet fishing pole.
Each time they catch a fish, ask them to say
what number is on it. This game can also
be adapted into a fun way to teach simple
addition or subtraction to older students.

Ocean Coloring Activity
Just like every fish in the sea, every student looks a little bit different! Distribute copies
of the fish below and have each student decorate one in his or her own unique way.
Consider using glitter, yarn, sequins, or other decorations—the possibilities are endless!
Then, design a bulletin board to look like an ocean to display
the entire school of fish for your classroom!
