Study Abroad and Student Exchange
Outgoing:
• UJ took several measures to facilitate the mobility of its students:
Undergraduate students can earn up to 36 credit hours, and
graduate students can earn up to 9 credit hours from studies
abroad.
• UJ sends exchange students to several international partner
universities on the basis of bilateral agreements.
•Financial constraints constitute an obstacle for many students,
but scholarship programs such as the EC-funded Erasmus+,
Erasmus Mundus, and the DAAD-funded summer language
scholarships have made it possible for tens of students to undergo
a study abroad experience.
Faculty Exchange
Incoming:
• UJ receives several international faculty members annually on the
basis of exchange agreements or through foreign government
funded scholarships and fellowships.
Outgoing:
•UJ encourages all its faculty members to make international links
and to seek further academic development abroad. DAAD has
been particularly helpful in offering such opportunities.
•UJ took a revolutionary measure to facilitate the mobility of its
faculty members: They can spend up to one PAID semester abroad
on scientific visits without having to be promoted or eligible for
sabbatical leaves. It counts towards promotion and retirement. (only
2 years of service and 3 publications are required)
