2N® SIM Star Server How to recharge a prepaid SIM on SIM Star Server Quick guide Version 1.00 www.2n.cz 2N® SIM Star Server - How to recharge a prepaid SIM Before you begin reading this guide, you will need following settings/equipment already prepared: - fully operational gateway and SIM Star Server - one GSM Group, one SIM Group and one Rule created at least - prepaid SIM cards assigned to SIM Group, properly set credit checking procedure, recharge codes 1) GSM Group Check settings of GSM Group which will be used for recharging, it has to be unrestricted for recharging. Regarding your requests please select one of following restriction options: - No restriction - Use SIM cards with recharging or activation request only - Use SIM cards with recharging request only 2) SIM Group Edit SIM group which will be used for recharging and go to the Prepaid SIM card recharge settings section. Here set up following settings (marked bold is necessary): - Recharge SIM group – which SIM Group’s recharge codes will be used (select the same SIM group as you are configuring) - Type – USSD, SMS, IVR or CALL – choose one of recharging possibilities - Number – if you use type SMS or IVR, enter here number for send/dial - String (characters %c will assign recharge code): o USSD – code to send (for ex. *102*%c# means: send *102* assign recharge code and press #). For USSD menu browsing use the semicolon as a delimiter of steps. o o o - SMS – text of recharging SMS (for ex. RECHARGE %c – send SMS with text RECHARGE assign recharge code) IVR – sequence of tones and delays (for ex. pP1w%cW – wait 1+2 seconds, press 1, wait 5 seconds, assign recharge code, wait 10 seconds) p – pause 1 second P – pause 2 seconds w – pause 5 seconds W – pause 10 seconds *#0123456789 – DTMF codes CALL – code to dial (for ex. 1234%c9 – dial 1234recharge code9) USSD test – if USSD recharging used here you can specify checking of the answer for successful recharge verification Recharge tries – maximum number of retries to send a recharging sequence - - Rech. idle time (min) – while SIM Star Server is waiting for recharged credit after recharging request, this time is used instead of idle time Timeout (min) – SIM Star Server waits for recharged credit for this time, if credit balance not increased when timeout reached, recharge code is marked as error Auto recharging – recharge code will be automatically assigned when SIM card has low credit (you can set it here: SIM Group - Prepaid SIM card settings - Low credit). If auto recharging disabled, you have to assign recharge codes to SIMs manually. Recharge day – specify day of automatically recharging, low credit option is not applied Keep logged after r. – keeps SIM logged after recharge and recharge testing 3) Manage recharge codes Go to SIM Groups – Manage recharge codes section, select the specific SIM group you would like to recharge and add recharge code(s). You can also import a list of recharge codes from text-based file (recharge codes must be delimited by one or more characters). 4) Recharge SIM a) Auto recharging in SIM Group settings enabled Go to: SIM group - Prepaid SIM card recharge settings – Auto recharging - enable Recharge codes are assigned automatically when low credit reached (you can check it here: SIM Group - Prepaid SIM card settings - Low credit). b) Auto recharging disabled - recharge SIM manually Go to: SIMs – choose specific SIM – click on action menu icon Recharge on the row and select Recharge voucher will be now assigned to the SIM. 5) Recharge result When recharge proceeded you will see the result in the Status column. If you would like to see more details, click on the View button on the row of recharge code. Status: New – new unused recharge code Assigned – recharge code was assigned to a specific SIM and is waiting for use Used – ok – recharge code was properly used and credit balance was increased Used – error – system was trying to use the recharge code but credit balance wasn’t increased, for closer information please see details
