Edco SHP300-10/SHP400-10
120 VAC — 1 Phase/240 VAC — 1 Phase
The Edco SHP Series hybrid design exhibits performance levels unobtainable
with simple “shunt type” protectors. The two active clamp stages, large inductor
and shunt capacitance effectively halt high rate-of-rise surge waveforms, thus
preventing initial voltage overshoot.
Flexibility of installation is another design feature of the Edco SHP Series. The
protector's first and second stages are electrically separate (line side) for use in
jurisdictions that require a line filter between stages.
In addition, the first stage provides protection from MAIN NEUTRAL to GND as
well as MAIN LINE to GND. This is an often overlooked feature which becomes
significant in locales where NEUTRAL must be kept separate from earth ground
inside the cabinet.

Edco SHA-1250
120 VAC — 1 Phase — Modular
The Edco SHA-1250 is an upgraded version of the Edco SHA-1210. The Edco
SHA-1250 also incorporates two LEDs for failure indication in a modular package
(Utilizes 12 pin Beau connector). The hardwire terminal base (Edco SHA-1250BASE-A, ordered separately) accommodates all wiring and the protection module
is designed for easy replacement. The footprint of the Edco SHA-1250-BASE-A is
the same as the Edco ACP-340 and Edco SHA-1210. This makes retrofitting older
cabinets easy because internal wire lengths do not have to be adjusted.
The Edco SHA-1250 offers remote sensing circuitry output that is a dry relay
contact closure suitable to interface with a modem or computer port for polling
remotely. With this feature, a central computer could detect a failed Edco
SHA-1250 and SHA-1250-BASE-A (Sold Separately)
SHA-1250 at the intersection.
The Edco SHA-1250 provides excellent noise suppression over a large frequency
range. Typical noise attenuation is 10 dB @ 10 KHz, 50 dB @ 100 KHz and
90 dB @ 1 MHz.

Edco SRA16C-1
Vehicle Loop Detection
The Edco SRA16C-1 is a three terminal device, two of which are connected
across the signal inputs of the detector for differential mode protection, and the
third is grounded to protect against common mode damage.
Differential mode surges (induced voltage across the loop detector input
terminals) are clamped by a semiconductor array instantly. The array is designed
to appear as very low capacitance to the detector.
Common mode surges (induced voltage between the loop leads & ground)
are handled by a rugged three-element gas discharge tube which operates
(fires) at 90 VDC and thereafter clamps the two loop leads to 30 volts in respect
to ground. This design eliminates any ground noise from entering the loop
detector and being amplified. The Edco SRA16C-1 is intended for all current
detector models on the market.

Edco PC642 Series
Zone/Loop/Data
The Edco PC642 Series surge suppressor is a two-pair (four-wire) module
implementing three-stage hybrid technology. This module addresses
over-voltage transients with gas tubes and silicon avalanche components.
In addition, sneak and fault currents are mitigated with resettable fuses (PTCs).
The PTCs increase resistance several orders of magnitude when over-currents
exceed safe levels. A normal state resumes when over-currents are removed.
The ability to self-restore in this manner significantly increases suppressor
performance and survivability.
The Edco PC642 card edge module is gold-plated, double-sided, and is designed
to mate with the Edco PCB1B gold-plated female terminal connector. When
snapped together, the data circuits “pass thru” the protector in a serial fashion
from the four “Field Side” terminals to the four “Electronics Side” terminals.
Terminals 1 or 10 of the Edco PCB1B must be attached to Building-Approved
Ground per Edco Technical Bulletin # 2015.

Edco SRA64 Series
1 Pair Data/Signal
The Edco SRA64 Series surge suppressor is a single pair cube implementing
three-stage hybrid technology. This cube addresses over-voltage transients
with gas tubes and silicon avalanche components. In addition, sneak and fault
currents are mitigated with resettable fuses (PTCs). The PTCs increase resistance
several orders of magnitude when over currents exceed safe levels. A normal
state resumes when over-currents are removed. The ability to self restore in this
manner significantly increases suppressor performance and survivability.
The standard Edco SRA64 second stage clamps are placed from each signal lineto-ground. In certain cases, where ground potentials vary from site-to-site, a
line-to-line only second stage clamp may be preferred. This variation is specified
by a suffix “D” on the part number. In other cases, line-to-line and line-to-ground
second stage clamps may be preferred. This variation uses an “X” suffix on the
part number.

Edco SPA-60B Series
120 VAC Interconnect Signal
The Edco SPA-60B is an economical method of protecting circuitry associated
with 120 VAC interconnect signal lines commonly used in traffic control systems.
In the presence of normal interconnect line voltage and frequency (60 Hz),
the Edco SPA-60B possesses the ideal characteristics of high impedance across
the protector and no impedance in series with the line. In the presence of
transients, the protector appears as very low impedance, thereby shunting
the surge to ground.
The product is offered in four variations. The Edco SPA-60BL protects one
circuit and is furnished with two leads. The Edco SPA-60BL-2 is identical except
it protects two circuits and is furnished with three leads. The Edco SPA-60BS
protects one circuit and consists of one lead and a stud (also used for mounting).
