Pre-insulated pipes keep the fluids flowing on the seven seas

The watertight, corrosion-proof design makes pre-insulated pipes the obvious choice for all vessels, and flexibility follows in the wake

LOGSTOR was founded approximately forty years ago, and was the first in the world to manufacture pre-insulated district heating pipes. We have continued to develop our pre-insulated pipe technology to include many new areas of application, and today LOGSTOR

Marine offers complete pre-insulated pipe systems to the marine industry.

Conditions at sea can be tough and this is reflected in the materials and production methods chosen to fabricate the pre-insulated pipe systems. Salt water wave impact, wind, beating rain, heat, cold, and human traffic across the pipes make our pipes the ideal solution as they are impervious to the elements.

Pipes insulated by traditional insulation methods, however, will allow for ingress of water into the insulation. Very rapidly this results in loss of insulation capacity and corrosion of the carrier pipes - making it necessary to earmark resources for constant maintenance and eventual replacement of pipe as well as insulation. At LOGSTOR Marine, we exclusively use corrosion-proof material for the outer jacket, and the

100% watertight insulation system ensures that the carrier pipe is well protected and that all the exposed areas of the pipe system are completely corrosionproof.

LOGSTOR Marine, a member of the

LOGSTOR Group, has developed a 100% watertight insulated pipe system for cargo holds and open deck applications on many kinds of vessels. The insulated pipe system is extremely resistant to the rigors of service at sea.

Pre-insulated pipes require no extra insulation on site and provide a long service life and minimum maintenance as some of the most obvious benefits.

The watertight, corrosion-proof design makes pre-insulated pipes the obvious choice for all vessels, and flexibility follows in the wake

A pre-insulated pipe with a jacket of high density polyethylene (HDPE), PUR insulation and a carrier pipe of mild steel.

Our maritime pre-insulated pipe systems are available for new vessels as well as for retrofitting of older vessels. LOGSTOR Marine supplies complete “readyto-install” pipe systems, tailor made to the specific application.

They precisely match the drawings and specifications provided and fulfill the requirements of the shipyard and shipowner. For retrofit projects, LOGSTOR Marine staff can take precise measurements on board the vessel, which will allow for exact pipe fabrication resulting in considerable time saving and minimal field adjustments.

If the vessel is gas-free and the use of open flame is allowed, the pre-insulated pipes can even be installed at sea during voyage, thus minimizing valuable downtime.

LOGSTOR Marine pipe systems have been type approved by all the major classification societies.

An insulated marine pipe system must be able to resist the enormous forces at sea. The combination of seawater, salt, etc. constitutes an extremely aggressive environment, which can damage the insulation and corrode traditionally insulated pipe systems over a short period of time. Choosing corrosion-proof, pre-insulated pipe systems from LOG-

STOR Marine can solve this problem.

Four types of pipe cover the entire temperature range

The carrier pipe material varies according to the medium to be transported. The jacket pipes are always made of black high-density polyethylene

(HDPE). All pipes are insulated with PUR foam.

Type B is fitted with an inner layer of mineral wool to accommodate the high operating temperatures.

Marine pipe systems carry all kinds of liquids

- our solutions take this into account

No matter your need,

LOGSTOR Marine provides the most suitable insulation solution.

Our pre-insulated pipe systems are designed for the transportation of all types of liquids and gas in the temperature range from -200°C to +315°C.

In environments where there is a risk of temperatures below the freezing point, we supply pipes with a built-in, self-limiting heating cable or a secondary tracer pipe system. The combination of superior insulation and built-in heating capability can provide frost protection down to –40ºC ambient temperature. Tracer pipe or heating cable can also be used for maintaining a particular liquid at a desired temperature.

Pre-insulated pipe systems outsail all the others

Specially designed watertight components made by LOGSTOR Marine are easy to install. Irrespective of the complexity of the pipe system on board, we can manufacture a tailormade solution that totally fits the application.

LOGSTOR Marine has supplied pre-insulated pipe systems to the most sophisticated chemical tankers.

Shipowners all over the world have chosen preinsulated pipe systems from LOGSTOR Marine in order to achieve substantially reduced life cycle costs and trouble-free operation.

LOGSTOR Marine’s pipe systems are built to last throughout the service life of the ship. They provide the following convincing economical benefits:

• minimum maintenance

• improved energy efficiency

• trouble-free operation

Our systems are used on many types of vessels.

You can find them on board:

• chemical and product tankers

• arctic tankers

• asphalt and molten sulphor tankers

• LNG and LPG tankers
