About Verrix
Verrix is a biotech startup using technology originally developed at NASA/JPL to
revolutionize sterility assurance in the healthcare setting by decreasing the time
necessary to validate sterilization of surgical tools and instruments.
Role
This is an opportunity to join the Verrix Product Development Team, which engages in
research and technology development of the Verrix bioindicator and its reader from
pre-clinical development through product commercialization.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you be joining a small team including world-class
expertise in a wide range of technologies and technical discipline areas of microbiology,
chemistry and electrical, thermal, mechanical, materials, optics, image analysis and
contamination control. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible of the
mechanical design and development of the Verrix product line.
Responsibilities
• Investigate, plan, design and develop mechanical products and systems including
microorganism deposition, liquid delivery, optical components, thermal components
and moving parts.
• Evaluate and devise approaches to meet engineering requirements.
• Responsible for writing protocols, test plans, reports and presenting
recommendations to the Product Development Team.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with minimum of 1 year of related experience;
Master’s Degree in similar disciplines.
• 2+ years of experience working for a medical device company.
• Proficiency in 3D solid modeling CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience with fabrication and rapid-prototyping technologies.
• Biological wet-lab experience and a strong background in biology.
Desired Skills
• Extensive knowledge of applicable Laboratory policies and procedures GMP, FDA, and
ISO.
• Ability to work as a member of a team and independently.
• Ability to work under general supervision and use independent judgment to perform
assignments of moderate complexity.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
