Statements & Search Criteria
Mission
The mission of JP Jumpers Foundation is to provide hands-on tangible assistance for the everyday challenges
of the special needs community, families and other charitable organizations. This assistance is executed
through fundraising activities where, in turn, donations are made to organizations and individuals to meet their
needs.
The Foundation conducts activity to provide community awareness and education about the special needs
community and legislative activity to advocate for the community and a variety of community programs to assist
further assist the Special Needs Community.
Background
JP JumPers Foundation was started by Pam Mines as an Autism Walk Team in 2007 honor of son JP, 7 months
after he was diagnosed with Autism. He was only 2 years old. JP JumPers started as a team of 6 and by 2012
grew to over 130 During that time the JumPers raised over $11,000 for the Autism Society of Central VA. In
2010, the JP JumPers created an official logo and asked the community to not only for Autism Awareness but
for other community/volunteer projects as well (i.e. Feeding the Homeless, Voter Registration Initiatives, Walks
for Breast Cancer, Down Syndrome and Diabetes, Special Olympics Volunteers; etc. Because of all of the &
JumPing In that was happening, Pam decided to start her own non-profit so she could give back in her own way
with no restrictions because of a national organizations.
Impact
Community Programs-2015-Board President and JP Jumper Board and Friends assisted
with organizing the
Camp Warrior Program. Children with special needs are
taught how to play baseball by the Richmond Flying
Squirrels Baseball Team; JP Jumper Foundation
Giving Tree Event to provide gifts to over a 100 children
with special needs; Special Needs Service. Special
Needs children and adults display and showcase their
special talents and
gifts at a Special Needs Service at a local church where the public is
invited. Goal
Raise $5,000
Educational Programs-2015- Board President made numerous presentations to a variety of groups educating
them on Autism and other disabilities and special needs community in general.
Goal: Continue Educate Community On Special Needs Community
Community Awareness Project-2015-The JP Jumpers Foundation held a community awareness of Autism
Awareness Month and event called Light It Blue (LIUB) at the Virginia Science Museum whereby the building
was light up with blue lights and the community was invited to be present help celebrate the Autism Community
and Autism Awareness Month.
Goal: Conduct three community awareness activities.
Fundraising & Donations 2014- The JP Jumpers Foundation raised funds through Giving Tree Reception
Celebration, JumpUp New Year's Event, Diamond Sisters Play and Show with proceeds to the Foundation
many other events.
Needs
JP Jumpers Foundation Needs includes the following:
• Additional funding to provide assistance to those with special needs and organizations.
• Volunteers to assist the Foundation with community programs and projects.
• Support by the community of our fundraising efforts and fundraising activities.

The purpose of the JP JumPers Foundation is to positively impact families affected by Autism, Special Needs
and Unique Circumstances. Our purpose involves financial assistance to families and individuals, to advocate
for legislative action to affect promote laws to benefit this population and discourage laws that adversely affect
this population, to conduct educational programs to the public and caretakers about the special problems and
challenges and encourage tolerance and understanding. Our primary function and goal of this Foundation is
raising funds to support the efforts of this Foundation for these very special individuals and their unique
circumstances.

Description
The JP Jumpers Foundation raises funds to assist individuals with Special
Needs and the organization that provide service this population.

Long term Success
The Foundation would like to provide funding to individuals to improve
their quality of life. For example the Foundations would provide GPS
Trackers to children and adults to keep track of their whereabouts if they
should wander from their home. There have several incidences in the
Richmond Metro area whereby children and adults with Autism
have wandered from their homes and were not rescued for days and even
weeks. A GPS Tracker would have made it possible for them to be
rescued within hours.
Short Term Success
The JP Jumpers Foundation would raise funds to provide 100 Special
Needs individuals with GPS Trackers.
Community Programs
Description
The JP Jumpers Foundation would conduct programs in the community to
improve the quality of life of individual with Special Needs. The program
are intended to assist this population to improve their self esteem and
provide joy to their to lives.

The JP Jumpers Foundation would like to have six community
programs during 2015 and 2016.
Short Term Success
Short term success is the Foundation having a Special Needs Worship
where those display their gifts and talents. The Foundation having a
Special Needs Walk, Easter Egg Hunt and a Special Needs Christmas
Tree when gifts are given to children by the public.

Description
The JP Jumpers Foundation conducts training and educational programs
to educate the public and professionals that assist those with Special
Needs.

The Educational Program would assist the community that has
contact and professionals that assist those with Special Needs. The
program would increase would increase understanding of this population
and assist the public to feel more interacting with those with Special
Needs. Professionals such as police officers and teachers would assist
those with Special Needs more effectively and efficiently.
Short Term Success
Short term success is the Foundation conducting a 12 educational
sessions in the Richmond metro area in 2015-2016
Commuity Awareness
Description
The JP Jumpers Foundation conducts community awareness activities to
assist the public to understand the uniqueness of the Special Needs
community thereby reducing the stigma of this population

The Foundation would like to conduct to 4 community awareness activities

Special Needs and change laws the do not benefit or do harm to this
population.
Short Term Success
The JP Jumpers Foundation was successful to have enacted the JP Law
in 2014. The law provides for a code to be added to a photo ID that
identifies an individual as having a Special Needs condition. This is
especially important when an individual is approached by police officer
during a traffic stop and the officer will understand the individual's
behavior before assuming the person is threatening the officer or is under
the influence of a substance. It is hoped all those with Special Needs
receive an photo ID with the code.

Job Description
Executive Director of the JP Jumpers Foundations
General Responsibility:
The Executive Director of The JP Jumpers Foundations (hereafter referred to as JPJP) will report to the Board
President and Board of Directors. The Executive Director (ED) will assist the Board President with the execution
of its mission of JPJF and overall strategic and operational responsibility for programs operations.
General Duties:
Financial Management
The Executive Director will assist the Board President and Board of Directors to manage and monitor the
financial resources of the JPJF to include, but not limited, to
• Submission to the Board a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect
the financial condition of the organization.
• The fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum
resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
• File Annual IRS tax form (IRS 990)
General Administrative Management
Assist the Board President and Board of Directors maintain the organizational documents to maintain JPJF’s
legal standing in the community are current to include, but not limited, to:

Directors and Officers liability insurance
·
IRS Tax Exemption (501c3)
·
Virginia Solicitation Permit
·
Registration with the State Corporation Commission
Leadership & Management:
Assist the Board President and Board of Directors to ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, rigorous
program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and
systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals
Assist the Board President and Board of Directors with actively engage and energize volunteers, board
members, event committees, alumni, partnering organizations, and funders
Assist the Board President and Board of Directors to develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of
Directors: serve as ex-officio of each committee, seek and build board involvement with strategic direction
ensure effective systems to track progress, and regularly evaluate program components, so as to measure
successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents
Fundraising & Communications:
Assist the Board President and Board of Directors with fundraising and developing other resources such as
submission of grants and other financial opportunities necessary to financially support JPJF mission. Also
secure non-monetary in-kind resources to reduce JPJF expenses.

Assist the Board President and Board of Directors to expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities
to support existing program operations
Assist the Board President and Board of Directors to deepen and refine all aspects of communications from web
presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand
Assist the Board President to develop relationships and garner new opportunities
Planning
Assist the Board President and Board of Directors to develop and annual operating and strategic plan.
Assist the Board President and Board of Directors to build partnerships in new markets, establishing
relationships with the funders, and political and community leaders at each expansion site
Qualifications
The ED will be thoroughly committed to assisting the Board President and Board of Directors to meet the JPJP
mission and have proven leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience. Concrete
demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:
• Advanced degree, ideally an Master in the social science, with at least 1-2 years of senior management

outcomes-based organization and staff; ability to point to specific examples of having developed and
