EXPLANATORY NOTES
Schedule – 1 (OHE work under Non power block)
Item No. 1: Foot by foot Survey & Preparation of OHE pegging plan
The price shall cover on a flat rate basis. The price shall cover survey, investigation of soil
bearing pressure, preparation of OHE pegging plan for suitable regulated type OHE
indicating all locations with chainage by conducting foot by foot survey of the section &
preparation of survey report in all respect with design aspect.
Item No. 2: Preparation of Design and Drawing of overhead equipment
The price shall cover on a flat rate basis survey, preparation of cross section drawings,
preparation of general arrangement drawings, preparation of Structure Erection Drawings,
detailed layout of equipment, busbar connections and insulators, layout of earthing system
and earth connections, cable run layout, detailed designs and drawings for steel work and
structural support, suitable concrete plinth for equipment and drawings for equipments,
components, fittings and materials supplied by the contractor. The price shall include
supply of all drawings in 2 RTF and 6 copies of print out for these drawings.
Item No.3: Concrete for foundation:
Item No. 3(i): Concrete for Mast foundation and plinth in Ordinary Soil/Hard Soil including
Rock requiring Chiseling.
The prices shall cover excavation, supply and handling of all materials, and accessories,
temporary arrangement for excavation in other than hard soil where necessary, grouting of
masts and finishing the top of concrete foundation or anchor blocks. The price also
includes dismantling of all connected temporary arrangements, back filling with earth and
compacting the same to the required height and width as per drawing to ensure safety of
foundation confining the exposed height of foundation block to within 10 cm. And removal
of soil. The price shall include cost of cement.
NOTE FOR ITEM 3(i) & (ii)
1. The price under item – 3 shall be same for any shape or size of concrete blocks. In
calculation the individual volume of concrete fraction of cubic meter beyond the
third decimal shall be rounded off to the next nearest third decimal.
2. The prices under items 3 shall apply for concreting of all foundations for masts,
gantries, portals anchor blocks for guy rod.
3. For purposes of computation of volume of concrete under item 3, the volume of
steel work embedded in the foundation block shall be ignored.
4. Cost of all concrete will be paid for only under item 3. Cement for use in the works
should be procured by the contractor of reputed make from the authorized dealer
and shall be ISI marked.
5. For purposes of computation of volume of concrete the volume of each muff for all
masts shall be taken as 0.02 cum. except for masts with balance weight and for
each column of portal, each head span mast & 2 or 3 track cantilever masts, and
special fabricated masts for which the volume of muff shall be taken as 0.08 cum.
irrespective of the size and shape of muff on a flat basis.
6. Concrete for foundation shall be normal mix of grade M-15 obtained by mixing
cement, course aggregate, fine aggregate and water in accordance with the
proportion given vide table-3 of IS: 456 – 2000 including ramming and shuttering
etc. For grouting, muffing, embedding of structure in foundation and for cable
trenches at switching stations, normal mix concrete M-15 obtained by mixing
materials in proportion indicated in above IS, shall be used. Maximum size of course
aggregate for M-10 and M-15 grade concrete mixture shall be 40mm and 20 mm
respectively. The price shall also include the cube test of the concrete for all anchor
location, turnout location and for other location will be decided by the Site
Engineer. Minimum one cube should be tested for each Kilometre of foundation
cast.

Item No. 4: Supply and manual erection of galvanized traction masts other than special
masts (BFB/RSJ/B Series/ S-Series etc. as required.
The price shall include supply and galvanized traction masts, Main Masts of switching
station, Mast for LT supply Transformer station, Long super mast (complete set) as per
approved design of Railway. The galvanization of mast should be 1000 gm/sqm.
For the purpose of payment, the weight of individual traction mast and masts of head span
shall be determined for each type on the basis of the payable weights per meter length
shown below for standard type. For special type, the purchaser will indicate the payable
weight per meter length at the time of approval of design.

ERECTION: The price shall include erection of traction masts, Main masts of switching station
and L.T. Supply transformer station. TTC uprights and portal uprights (in case of TTC upright
and portal upright not cover in item No. 5 to 7), & Long Super mast (complete set).
The price also includes cost of erection, alignment and setting before grouting of individual
mast, main masts of switching and booster transformer station and masts of LT supply
transformer station whether rolled or fabricated.
Note for Item No. 4: The price shall also include the cost of painting of location number
before providing of number plates on masts/portal uprights, TTU in the manner as directed
by the purchaser. The price shall also include the straightening of masts/portal uprights
bent during transit and cutting of masts/portal uprights to suit the site condition.
Item No. 5(i) & (ii): Supply and erection of TTC/portal Assembly complete
Supply: The price shall cover supply of TTC with 5.5/8 m. boom as per RDSO design with
galvanization of 1000gm/sqm. For the purpose of payment the weight of individual TTC will
be determined comprising TTU, TTB, TTK, complete set for each type of TTC on the basis of
payable weights as per RDSO design and will be indicated by the purchaser at the time of
approval of design and type of TTC including Drop Arm fasteners & SPS. For the purpose of

payment the weight of individual TTC shall be determined for each type on the basis of
payable weight per meter length/per set as per RDSO’s design.
Erection: the price shall cover the cost of erection of TTC with 5.5/8 mtr. Booms comprising
TTU, TTB, TTK complete set manually or by the help of derrick.
Item No. 6(i): Supply of HDGC contact wire (107 sqmm.)
The price shall cover supply of joint less HDGC contact wire as per RDSO specification No.
ETI/OHE/42(2/92) with latest A&C slips. The items should be procured from approved
supplier of CORE/Railway duly inspected by RITES or RDSO.
Item No. 6 (ii): Catenary wire (65 sqmm.)
The price shall include supply of 65 sqmm, cadmium copper catenary wire 19/2.10 as per
RDSO specification No. ETI/OHE/37(12732) with latest A&C slips. The items should be got
inspected by either RITES or RDSO.
Item No. 7(i) & (ii): Supply and erection of Fabricated Steel work other than mast
Supply: The price shall cover supply of all fabricated steel work of galvanization of
1000gm/sqm other than mast, TTC Portal Gantries etc, for example Extension chair, Back
angle, Channel and all other small parts of steel work as determined by Railway
representative as per RDSO weight or ISI weight including fasteners. The weight of black
steel only reckoned. No increase due to Galvanising or painting or reduction due to Drill,
Skew cut etc.
Erection: the price shall cover cost of erection of channel and all other small parts steel
works and necessary fasteners as determined by Railway representative.
Item No. 8: Supply and erection of Guy Rod assembly include mast Anchor/Guy rod
attachment
Supply: The price shall cover supply of Guy rod of various lengths as per RDSO specification
No. ETI/OHE/P/5000 with latest A&C slips complete with mast guy rod with adjusters and
parts grouted in anchor Block. It shall not include dwarf masts but includes SPS on dwarf
masts, mast Anchor/Guy rod attachment and fittings with appropriate fasteners. The main

The tenderers to please note that as a considerable length of track is curve the
requirement of large tubular stay adjuster will be more (approx 3m)
The price shall also include supply of fasteners GI/SS etc. any other items required for single
bracket assembly is to be supplied by the contractor.
Erection: The price shall also cover erection of all components of single bracket assembly
with SPS including insulator stay and bracket with fasteners etc. duly fabricated at the
contractor’s cost.
Item No. 10 (i) & (ii): Supply and erection of overhead equipment
The price shall cover the erection of contract wire, catenary wires and supply and erection
of PG clamps and droppers (5mm), pins, split pins, clips suitable for regulated OHE. The
price shall also cover supply of all components including dropper clips, parallel clamps for
jumpering and splices (where there use is approve), but excluding SPS with bolts and nuts
etc, and termination. The price shall include provision of droppers including clips, painting
of setting distance of masts/structures and rail levels on masts/structures and SED value.
The price shall include supply and fixing of number plate including nuts/bolts whichever
required for fixing for new line. Location for Rectro-reflective numbers plate will be decided
by Site incharge.

The price shall also include supply of any components required for erection of OHE whether
mentioned or not with requisite bolts, nuts, washers and fasteners of such design as
approved by the Railway. The item should be got inspected by either RITES or RDSO.
The price shall cover erection of materials mentioned in item No. 6 i.e. contact wire,
catenary wire, dropper wire 5 mm. & 7 mm. including its fabrication and other associated

Item No. 11 (i) & (ii): Supply and erection of regulating equipment 3 pulley modified type
(3:1 ratio) with normal counter weight assembly, Guide tube for conventional OHE.
Supply: The price shall cover supply of 3 pulley type regulating equipment complete with
all accessories including counter weight assembly, SPS and suitable S.S. wire rope, 9 tonne
adjuster with double strap assy. and normal/ antitheft guide tube assy., anti falling device
and small part steel work including all fasteners and fittings as per approved drawing &
specification.
Erection: The price shall cover erection and adjustment of 3:1 regulating equipment with
counter weight assembly complete with SS wire rope and fasteners and fittings as per
approved drawing excluding supply and erection of termination with composite 9 tonne
insulator which will be paid for under item No. 13 & 15.
Item No. 12 (i) & (ii): Supply & erection of materials for termination of double overhead
equipment (excluding 9 tonne insulator)
The price shall cover supply of all materials required for the termination of double OHE
conductor except 9 tonne insulator. The price shall cover erection of all materials required
for termination of double OHE conductor excluding 9 tonne insulator, which will be paid
under item No.15.
Item No. 13: Supply and erection of materials for termination of single OHE conductor
(excluding 9 tonne insulator)
Supply: - The price shall cover supply of all materials for termination of a single conductor
overhead equipment or termination wire on a traction mast or structure including
appropriate mast anchor double straps, ending clamp for catenary or contact wire or
terminating wire and fitting assembly and termination wire if any but excluding of 9 tonne
insulator. The cost also covers supply of fasteners and necessary double eye distance rod
as per specification and approved drawing.

Item No. 15 Supply and erection of additional fittings required at a turnout, diamond
crossing or over-lap.
The price shall cover on flat rate basis supply of additional components and fittings
required at turnout, crossings or over-laps (insulated or un insulated) including over-laps
knuckle or crossing equipment at a turnout, or a diamond crossing and parallel
clamps/bimetallic parallel clamp for jumper connections between two sets of overhead
equipment conductor at a turnout, diamond crossing, over-laps or neutral section, but
excluding jumper wire. The price shall cover erection of all materials including jumper wire,
and all adjustments required at turnouts, crossing, overlaps and neutral sections.

Item No. 16 (i) & (ii): Supply & erection of solid core 9 tonne insulator (Composite type
suitable polluted zone)
The price is applicable to supply & erection of 9 tonne cut in insulator (composite type) on
a flat rate basis such as in a head span, termination, cross span or in span wire or an
overhead equipment conductor at an insulated overlap, anticreep, sectioning insulator
etc. where not provided for other items. The price shall cover supply of all components
required for the erection of cut in insulator assembly, including appropriate terminal fittings
for the conductor and the 9 tonne insulator assembly suitable for regulated OHE and at
anticreep anchoring points.
Item No. 17: Supply & erection of 105 sqmm Copper jumper
The price shall cover, on a flat rate basis, the supply of all components and fittings required
for providing a flexible copper jumper connection including parallel clamps, bimetallic and
alluminium copper ALCU strips, wherever required, and terminal or tee clamps at either

end and jumper wire. The price shall also cover the supply of the copper jumper assembly

Item No. 19: Supply & erection of structure bond
The price shall cover supply of all materials including mild steel flat (40 mm x 6 mm)
required to provide a structure bond generally conforming to RDSO drawing No.
ETI/OHE/P/7000 with latest A&C slips connecting a traction mast or structure to the nearest
non-track circuited rail, or earth electrode, including all fastenings at both ends like bolts,
nuts, spring washers & flat washers. The price shall include shaping and drilling of the bond
and rail and erection of all materials including the bond. The price shall also include
provision of heat shrinkable PVC sleeve for structure bond under track-circuited rail. This
would also cover connection to earthing terminals of equipments like L.T. transformers with
structures and then rails as per approved drawing.
Item No. 20: Supply and erection of transverse and special bond
The price shall cover supply of all materials including mild steel flats (40 x 6 mm) fasteners
etc. required to provide transverse bonds connecting rails of the same/adjacent tracks at
the locations to be specified by the Purchaser. The price shall also cover the supply of all
materials including mild steel flat to provide special bonds at a level crossings, foot
over/road bridge/protective screen, fencing, bridge, bridge girder etc. for which the
location will be indicated by the Purchaser. The price shall include erection, shaping and
drilling of the bond & rail and erection of all materials including the bond, bolts, nuts, flat
washer & spring washer.
Item No. 21: Supply and erection of longitudinal bond
The price shall cover supply of all materials including mild steel flats (40 x 6 mm) and
fasteners required to provide longitudinal bond connecting rail to rail at the locations to be
specified by the Purchaser. The price also covers erection of the bond, its shaping &
connection & making holes both on rail & bond.
Item No. 22: Supply and erection of a section insulator assembly including core insulator
The price shall cover supply of all components required for a standard section insulator
assembly, special arrangements for supporting the equipment and terminal fittings for
conductors and the sectioning insulator (core), runners etc. as required. The cut-in insulator
i.e. 9 tonne insulator will be paid separately. The price shall cover also erection and
adjustment of all components of section insulator assembly complete with core insulator &
cut in insulator droppers, ending cones etc.
Item No. 23: Supply and erection of pull-off arrangement for one OHE.
The price shall cover supply of all components required for a pull-off arrangement to pull
OHE only, complete with steady arm, contact wire swivel clip and fittings but excluding
conductor and solid core 9 tonne insulator. The price shall also cover the erection of all
components including solid core insulator, small jumpers and conductions.

Item No. 24: Supply and erection of various types of caution boards (to be supplied as per
RDSO specification)
The price shall cover supply, painting, lettering and fixing of various types of caution boards
under these items and erected as per RDSO’s specification and/or as per instruction of
purchaser’s engineer. The prices shall also cover for supply and erection of all accessories
for all type of boards including bolts, nuts, angles etc.
Item No. 25: Supply and erection of sectioning diagram
The price shall cover supply, painting, lettering and fixing of sectioning diagram board
made as per following specification.
Size – 4 ft. x 2 ft. made of ply board of 4 mm. thick with sun mica sheet of 1 mm. thick
covered with Acrylic sheet secured with Aluminium angle bit and with hanging
arrangement. The sectioning diagram to be painted will be supplied by the purchase. The
entire drawing & fixing on the wall is to be done as per instruction given by the purchaser’s
engineer.
Item No. 26: Supply and erection of sectioning diagram
The price shall cover supply, painting in multicolour, lettering and fixing of sectioning
diagram board of size 15 ft. x 8 ft. made of ply board of 4mm thick sunmica sheet of 1mm
cover with terylic sheet secured with aluminium angle beat and with hanging
arrangement. The entire drawing & fixing to be done as per instruction given by
purchaser’s engineer.
Item No. 27, 28: Supply of Bracket & stay Insulator (composite type) suitable for polluted
zone
The price shall cover supply of different type of insulator under these items. All the insulators
will be of composite type.
All materials supplied shall be strictly as per specification mentioned for respective item or
Governing RDSO/CORE specification for the item.
All items are to be procured from CORE/RDSO approved manufacturer only and
contractor shall produce documentary evidence for the same. All the insulators shall be
inspected and tested by authorized representative of RITES at manufacturer’s premises. The
contractor shall intimate in advance for readiness of material for inspection.
Item No. 29: Porcelain 9 tonne insulator
The price is applicable to supply & erection of 9 tonne porcelain type insulator on a flat
rate basis. The price shall cover supply of all components required for the erection of cut in
insulator assembly, including appropriate terminal fittings for the conductor and the 9
tonne insulator assembly suitable for erection with section insulator.
Item No. 30: Post insulator porcelain
The price is applicable to the provision of a Post insulator to support copper or aluminum
jumper/bus-bar. The price shall cover supply of all components and fittings /angle iron (out
rigger) to support the jumpers, supply of Post insulator but excluding small parts steel work
with bolts & nuts etc. if any. The price shall cover erection of all components required for
the assembly including Post insulator but excluding small parts steel works with bolts & nuts
etc. if any.
Item No.31: Insulated catenary wire (65 sqmm)
The price shall include supply and erection of 65 sqmm insulated cadmium copper
catenary wire including splicing at both ends as per approved design. The item should be
get inspected by RITES and materials should be as per latest specification of RDSO.

Item No. 32: Final adjustment of OHE and Tower Wagon checking.
The price shall cover cost of thorough checking of erected OHE at each point jointly with
customer & Railway representative. Each & every point of OHE including suspension,
clamping, tightening point will be checked by Tower Wagon for smooth & sparkless current
collection. Any defect, deficiency, maladjustment has to be rectified. Any defective
material identified during such joint check has to be replaced with proper one. As regards
method of connection, size of material and adequacy of tightness etc. the opinion of
Railway representative will be final. Necessary coordination with concerned Railway
division for arranging Tower Wagon checking shall be done by the employer but Tower
Wagon hire charge to be paid to Railway will be borne by the contractor.Item No. 33,34,35 & 36 : Dismantling Work
The price shall cover dismantling of various items and removal there to under power block. The
usable item are to be deposited to the office of SSE / TRD / UDL. All labour & cartage cost and
other cost incidental thereto are to be included in the price.
Item No. 37 (i): Supply of 25 KV, 1600 AMPS SP Isolator with interlock arrangement & supply
of 25 KV Pedestal insulators with components complete.
The price shall cover the supply of 25 KV SP Isolator complete with mounting base
operating rod, operating rod guides, operating rod isolator arcing horns, bolts & nuts, SPS
and interlock where required from first isolator to second isolator. The price also includes
cost of pedestal insulators with clamp and fasteners etc which are required for connecting
jumpers.
Item No. 37 (ii): Erection of SP Isolator including erection of Pedestal insulators etc.
The price shall cover erection of SP isolator & Pedestal insulators for connecting jumper
wire. The work will have to be carried out under power block whenever necessary.
Item No 38 (i) & (ii): Supply and erection of 25 KV/240V,10KVA, Auxiliary Transformer with
D.O fuse switch assembly complete.
The price shall cover supply and erection of 10 KVA, 25 KV/240 volt Auxiliary transformers
complete with terminal connectors on a mast or gantry including 25 KV drop out fuse
switch assembly complete. The price shall also cover supply and erection of an enameled
number plate of approved design. The price shall also cover oil filtration and precommissioning test as approved by the Railways. The contractor shall make his own
arrangement for oil filtration equipment as well as power supply required for the same. All
necessary tools, equipments, instruments required for carrying out oil filtration/ check/ tests
and commissioning shall be arranged by the contractor. Supply of materials should as per
latest RDSO specification and drawing. The price should be exclusive of the cost of 9 tonne
insulator, SPS, jumpers where will be paid separately. The price also includes supply &
erection of 50mm dia pipe along the mast for bringing cable.
The price shall cover supply and erection of 25 KV. D.O. fuse switch assembly complete
with all mounting accessories and terminal connectors anti-climbing device as required.
The price shall not include erection of small parts steel work.
Item No 39: Supply and erection of Key box for isolator
The price shall cover fabrication, supply & erection of a wooden key box of size 1.5 ft. x 1 ft.
x 3 inches with suitable transparent front. The key box should be wall mounted type,

Item No. 40: Supply and erection of a single earth electrode with earth pit box cover
complete
The price shall cover supply and erection of an earthing station with a single pipe
embedded within the ground by driving or otherwise complete with proactive concrete
box & lugs suitable for directly connecting with MS flat of minimum size (40 x 6 mm) and
conforming to RDSO’s drawing No. ETI/OHE/P/7020, mode-B and the code for bonding and
earthing for 25 KV A.C. 50 Hz. single phase traction system “conforming to RDSO’s code No
ETI/OHE/71(11/90) A&C No. 2(3/93) with earth pit box”. Value of earth resistance to be
painted over the top of earth pit box as also painting of top cover with yellow paint. The
top cover should have proper lifting handle. The value of single earth pit should not be
more than 10 Meg-ohm.
Item No 41 (i) & (ii): Supply & erection of 25 KVcopper feeder wire (150 sq. mm).
The price shall cover supply of stranded copper conductor for cross feeder (37 / 2.25 mm.
150 sq. mm ) made of a single copper bare, hard drawn conductor of size (37 /2.25 mm.
150 sq. mm ) . The price shall not include the cost of suspension assembly (which will be
paid for item No 15. and termination (which will be paid for under item No 13 and small
parts steel works , complete with bolts, nuts etc. if any . The price shall also cover on a flat
rate basis, the cost of supply of splices to the extent required and erection of the complete
copper feeder wire.
Item No 42: Suspension of copper feeder complete
The price is indicative in nature. The erection rate accepted in the previous items of work
will be enhanced by 100% if same type of erection work is executed with Power Block. All
payments under Power Block work will be paid from this item unless otherwise mentioned in
schedule
Item No 43: Working Rule Diagram
The price shall cover preparation of diagram based on signal aspect & station working rule.
6 copies of the diagram as also RTFs are to be submitted.
Schedule -2 (Extra rate for the work under Power block)
The price includes cost of all works as are required to under take each & every item of work
as given in schedule ‘B’ involving traffic & power block. All safety & precautionary aspect
as are needed to be provided and the cost thereto should be quoted against this
schedule considering scope of work for each item.
