Assignment due dates are listed by the week of the semester. Please include your FULL NAME and
LAB DAYS/TIME on each assignment.
Week 1:
Monday 1/25/16:

None  (the Significant Figures worksheet will be provided to you, completed in class, and
checked-off during the lab period)
Wednesday 1/27/16:


Post-lab: Turn-in the Significant Figures worksheet at the beginning of the lab period (only
necessary if it was not completed and checked-off during the previous lab period)
Read: Experiment #1: Measurement
Week 2:
Monday 2/1/16:



Post-lab: Experiment #1: Measurement (access the Post-Lab Handouts web page from the
link on the CHEM 1A Home Page, print and complete the post lab assignment, which is due
at the beginning of the lab period)
Obtain a lab notebook in which the pages are permanently bound and permanently numbered.
You may use a composition book: use the first two pages to make a table of contents,
number the remaining pages by hand in ink. This will be graded.

Wednesday 2/3/16:


Post-lab: Experiment #2: Density of Solids and Liquids
Print and bring the “Nomenclature (with Rules)” Practice Problems from Chapter 1. You
will not be allowed to print the handout in lab without losing points. The worksheet will be
completed in class, and checked-off during the lab period.
Week 3:

during the lab period)
