Select, measure, and cut stock to the specified length plus facing allowance.
Calculate and set appropriate speed and feed.
Set feed direction.
Select, mount, and adjust appropriate lathe tool bit.
Face the workpiece to the specified length.
Mount drill chuck in the tailstock.
Note
The end of the bar must be faced correctly before performing Step 7.
