HUG Summer Activity Info
HUG provides positive mental health focused activities for grade K-6 students during the
summer. It’s a great way to get to know other students, and be an active within the community.
HUG summer activities will begin Monday, July 6th, 2015 and finish Thursday, August 20, 2015.
The activities run from 1pm -3pm, Monday to Thursday. (with the exception of a few dates). Check the
calendar for activity times. (There will be NO activities on STAT holidays.)
Attached is the Summer Calendar for July and August 2015. If your son/daughter would like to
sign up for any activities during the summer, please have parents fill out the forms attached and
return to your HUG coach with the dates you are wanting; However, this is a 1st come 1st serve bases.
All activities have a limited number of space - we cannot guarantee each student will be able to come to
all activities requested.
Students must be dropped off at/picked up from each activity on time - Please check the
calendar to see where the drop-off/pick-up point will be for each activity, it is marked with a *. Please
be on time for activities, as we only wait for 10 minutes after the scheduled start time before we will
have to move on to what we have planned. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, there will be no
staff available. Students must be picked up on time as staff will only be available until 3:15. *Please note
that activities can be subject to change but we will notify you as soon as possible if that happens.
On the calendars it will state “Host School” which is the school that we will be able to access for
bathroom’s and for weather changes if they were to occur. It also states “Zones” which is the schools
that are able to attend that week for ratio purposes. Please keep that in mind when signing up your
child.
All HUG activities are free of cost, but we ask that students bring water, sunscreen, bug spray,
and dress appropriately for the weather. Please bring a swimsuit and towel for water activities.
Please have your forms returned by June 26th, 2015 .
If you have any other questions, please contact by email or phone.
