Rotaris – The perfect form
Form
Rotaris’s defining visual characteristic is its concentric circles.
The centrepiece is surrounded by a lamp cover, the inside of which
has a prismatic structure, again in concentric circles. Continuing
outwards, the high-reflectance optic is made of semi-high-gloss
aluminium.
All these elements combine to convey an impression of transparency
and purity. Finally, the outer rim of the luminaire, which forms one
piece with the optic, interfaces with the ceiling, ensuring the smooth
visual integration of Rotaris in the space.

Possibility
Besides recessed versions, surface-mounted and suspended versions are
also available and can be combined to suit the respective application.
The individual luminaires also offer extensive choice. For instance,
the centrepiece is available in pure aluminium (1) or with a white
coated finish.The prismatic lamp cover comes in two forms: clear or
opal. It is also possible to order a stylish blue inlay for the lamp
cover, giving an attractive azure hue to the light (2). And sensors (3)
can be integrated to create intelligent luminaires (presence
detection, daylight linkage). Furthermore, remote control functionality
means that users are able to create their own personal light.

integration of spots (both adjustable and fixed) for accent lighting (4).
Furthermore, a perforation pattern is available, which allows the
integration of a loudspeaker in the centrepiece (5). An enlarged
centrepiece is available to turn the circular luminaire into a true ring
(6). And the recessed Rotaris can be inserted into a square white
metal ceiling tile for integration in system ceilings.
Space
With the launch of Rotaris, there is now a round luminaire available
that is suitable for all office applications.The highly efficient 60W TL5
circular lamp and the luminaire’s high efficiency (up to 60%), combined
with the omnidirectional light distribution, means that this circular

luminaire can be installed at normal spacings in an office environment.
Thanks to Rotaris’s round shape, the lighting design can follow the
office layout as it imposes no additional grid or orientation on the
space.This suits the flexible layouts and designer furniture found in
contemporary office environments.
Of vital importance in offices, Rotaris also addresses the issue of
glare control in all directions by utilising OLC (Omnidirectional
Luminance Control) technology.The lamp is shielded by a mirror and
a lamp cover added to create a pleasing, balanced brightness.
The possibility to integrate a spotlight (only in recessed versions),
thus combining general and accent lighting in a single luminaire,
makes Rotaris ideal for retail applications too.

The defining visual characteristic of the Rotaris product range, which
is based on the innovative TL5 Circular 60 W lamp, is its concentric
circles.The semi-high-gloss aluminium centrepiece (available in its
pure form or with a white coated finish) is surrounded by an opal
or clear lamp cover, the inside of which has a prismatic structure,
again in concentric circles. Continuing outwards, the high-reflectance
optic is also made of the same semi-high-gloss aluminium. Finally, the
optic continues in the outer rim and the housing since it is all made
out of one single piece of material. All these elements combine to
convey an impression of transparency and purity.
The TPS740 has a direct light distribution, directing all the light
towards the working plane.The TPS745 has a direct / indirect light
distribution, directing 20 % of the light towards the ceiling.

The issue of glare control is addressed in all viewing directions by
the OLC-technology (Omnidirectional Luminance Control).The
lamp is shielded by a mirror and a lamp cover is added to create a
pleasing, balanced brightness.The full range complies with current
office lighting norms (EN12464-1, Lm < 1 000 cd/m2 at γ > 65°).

Installation
Mounting: suspended individually.
Method: suspended mounting by means of a 3-wire suspension set
(SM3) and with a unique power cord featuring a metallic design
(max. 150 cm). Both are enclosed with the luminaire.
Fixing: installation without removing lamps or optics. Clutch
connection is used (Reutlinger).
Accessories
Blue inlay sheet to give the lamp cover an azure hue.
