Dr. Jae H. Kim is an Executive / Senior Technical Fellow of Boeing Research & Technology in the Communications and Network Systems Technology. He is responsible for supporting Enterprise-wide The Boeing Company in setting the direction and providing integrated system solutions and products to meet Boeing’s commercial aviation and military needs in the communications and networking field, while working with Boeing business units to develop a long range business strategy for communications and networking products and services. Dr. Kim is also an Affiliate Professor and Graduate Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of Washington, Seattle, WA. He has been an IEEE Editor for a monthly Technical Journal of Communications Letters for a decade since 2001. Dr. Kim has been a Principal Investigator and Program Manager for a number of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) contract programs from DARPA, Army CERDEC, AFRL, ONR and NASA. Prior to Boeing, Dr. Kim has been a Task Manager and Member of Technical Staff as Senior Research Scientist at the California Institute of Technology, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Dr. Kim holds a SECRET NOFORN Clearance in USA. Dr. Kim is a recognized expert and technical leader in the wireless mobile communications and tactical mobile networking within the industry, academia, especially U.S. Government and Dept. of Defense (DoD) Scientific Community. Dr. Kim is working on wireless communications and tactical mobile networking, with specific interests in adaptive MANET, resilient NetOps with auto-configuration and distributed information services, and spectrum and jamming-aware MANET under extreme environments. His research area of interests spans wireless sensor network, UAV-based airborne internetworking, spectrum-aware, cognitive radio networking, cellular and WiMAX integration with MANET and secure handheld command on mobile device. Dr. Kim has 90 published papers, 4 U.S. patents and 1 pending, 10 NASA Technology Innovation and 25+ Boeing New Technology Awards for outstanding technical performance recognition. Dr. Kim has edited a book, “GreenIT: Technologies and Applications” published by Springer-Verlag (August 2011). Dr. Kim received an Asian-American Engineers of the Year Award (2009) in USA, and an award from the President of Republic of Korea for Outstanding Overseas Korean Achievements (2008). Dr. Kim has been served as the 39th President of the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA). He is also currently serving as a volunteer Board member to the Unified Bellevue and Seattle Korean School (Non-profit organization) in Washington, USA.
