PROFILE OF THE FACULTY
WHY STUDY AT FBE?
The University of Economics in Bratislava is the most significant and
largest educational institution in the field of economics in Slovakia.
FBE UE students have during their studies the opportunity to meet
with leading economists and managers at lectures and workshops

one of them is the Faculty of Business Economics of the University
of Economics in Bratislava with seat in Košice (FBE UE).

employers of FBE UE’s graduates. An important part of the work of
the faculty with talented students is the creation of a special group
of talented students “Honoris” for which the faculty ensures the
expansion of the tutorial.
FBE UE has a long history and experience in preparing graduates
in economics and management. Faculty is providing university
educated economists in all forms of study, in the daily, external,
bachelor, master and doctoral studies. FBE UE’s history began in
1952 and since that time the faculty has demonstrated its worth
and viability. This is evidenced by the number of graduates, many
of whom are recognized economists and managers at home
and abroad and engaged in high-level positions in private sector
companies, as well as scientific institutions and public organizations.
Our continuous improvement is evidenced by several awards
related to the quality policy and the maintenance of a qualified corps
of teachers and researchers, and not least new premises equipped
with modern information and communication technologies.
The aim of this innovation is to provide more practical knowledge
to selected students in collaboration with a reputable multinational
company for selected students to be better prepared to labour
market conditions.
For students FBE UE offers accommodation in their own dormitory
on Bellová Street in the wider centre of Košice with sufficient
capacity and at very reasonable prices for accommodation.
On the basis of bilateral cooperation with the University of
Huddersfield in England FBE UE’s students have the opportunity to
complete part of the bachelor’s degree in Huddersfield and thus
obtain a bachelor’s degree from a foreign university.
FBE UE’s managerial system built on the principles of the CAF 2006
model and STN EN ISO 9001:2009 heads faculty to continuous
improvement, as well as to the need of applying acquired knowledge
to practice. FBE UE was awarded within the National Quality
Award of the Slovak Republic in C3 category- other public sector
organizations in 2008 by the “Award for Performance Improvement”
and in 2010 was recognised as “Awarded Finalist of the National
Quality Award of the Slovak Republic”. FBE UE has certified quality
management system STN EN ISO 9001:2009. In 2012, the FBE UE
as a part of the University of Economics in Bratislava began the
process of prestigious international AACSB accreditations.
STUDENT PARLIAMENT
FBE UE’s students’ representative is the Student Parliament of
Economists of the Faculty of Business Economics in Košice, which
addresses the needs and problems of students. Parliament has own
representatives in several organs of the faculty and thus contributes
to shaping the direction of faculty development and to the
improvement of the educational process. Parliament participates in
The Faculty has granted competences to conduct habilitation
procedure and procedure for appointment of professors in
mentioned fields. In addition to modern equipped premises in
the historic centre of Košice, FBE UE allows to study selected study
programs at the Teaching Centre in Michalovce. Teaching centre
was created in cooperation with the city of Michalovce in 1994 and
provides education at the first and second degree of study in the
daily and external form.

organizes social and entertainment events with cultural program
for students, organizes sports events, as well as other events that
support student life.
FBE UE’s students have the opportunity to acquire new knowledge
on 3-12 month study stays at foreign universities and internships in
foreign companies within ERASMUS+ programme. In the Erasmus+
programme the University of Economics in Bratislava collaborates
with 273 foreign partner universities. The purpose of these study
stays and internships is that students complete part of their
studies at partner universities and gain knowledge and experience
from the field they study in their home university, improve their
foreign language, develop academic and professional contacts with
colleagues abroad.
