If they obey, they get to stay in the game; if they do not do it, they have to sit out. Materials Needed: For this activity, you will need this help sheet. Right now, we are going to play a game called “Do What I Say.” This is a game that will help you to learn to obey. For the game, all you have to do is listen to what I say and do it! Description: The children have the choice to participate in a game where they will complete several different activities. If they choose to participate in them, something good will happen to them. What if Noah had chosen not to obey God and not build the Ark? (Noah wouldn’t have been safe from the flood.) 7. That would not have been good! 8. The first thing I want you to do is build a wall of the Ark with those blocks. 2. If you choose not to do this activity please sit quietly on the floor. (Show the children a spot out of the way of the ark’s wall.) Note: Encourage children as they build the wall. Remind them that God Wants Me to Obey Him just like Noah did. 3. Great wall! Noah would be proud! Everyone who helped build the wall raise a hand to get a prize for participating! Note: The prize can be anything like a sticker, pencil, ticket for your church store, or a stamp. 4. On to the next activity! What would happen if you didn’t hit your sister even though you really want to? (She might be nice to me. She might not hit me the next time she gets mad at me.) 6. You obeyed when you did what I asked you to do. 3. Now we are going to attach your animal to this craft stick. 4. Find someone who has the same animal as you and sit by them. 5. Good job obeying! 6. Now, we are going to make the noise that our animals make. Note: Help the children if they don’t know what noise to make for their animal. After the activity say: 1. Description: The children will work to match up pictures from the Bible Story in order to review the lesson. Materials needed: For this activity, you will need this help sheet, wooden clothes pins, and the ”Make A Match/ Lesson 5” printouts from your Lesson Materials CD-ROM. The people in the land were doing bad things and not obeying God. 3. Noah knew that God wanted him to obey so he did. 4. One day God told Noah that He had a special project for him. Picture 2 (God’s Plans for the ark) 1. God told Noah His plans for an ark. 2. The ark was to be made of cypress wood and be waterproof. Picture 3 (Two animals of every kind) 1. God also told Noah that He was going to destroy the earth with a flood. 2. God wanted Noah to gather up two of every kind of animal. 3. Noah would keep them alive during the flood. Picture 4 (Noah builds the ark) 1. Noah knew that God wanted him to obey, so he did. 2. Noah began to build the ark and gather the animals. 3. He didn’t have a lot of help and the ark was big so it took him a long time. 4. But, Noah didn’t give up, he obeyed God. After the activity say: 1. Description: The children will take the animals they created for the craft activity and march them into an Ark (a masking tape square on the floor). Materials Needed: For this activity you will need this help sheet, the animals from the Craft Classroom Activity, and masking tape. To introduce the activity say: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Who wants to help load the boat? Great! God told Noah to build an ark and then fill it with animals. Noah obeyed God and God saved Noah from the flood. Now, we are going to load our ark with the animals we made earlier. And here is our ark today! Today, we are going to take our animals we made and load them into the ark. Let’s make a line and you can go first! 2. Load your animal and don’t forget to make the animal noises! Great! Note: Encourage the children as they walk their animals into the masking tape square.
