POWER SUPPLY – DC smoothing unit
Cat: LB2639-001 DC smoothing unit 8 amp maximum.
DESCRIPTION: This IEC Smoothing Unit can be applied to a DC, unfiltered
output from a power supply to change the output to smooth DC. It consists of
capacitors and a choke to provide very effective filtering of the DC.
Completely unfiltered full wave DC is changed to DC as follows:
At 3 amps: less than 1% ripple.
Rating: Continuous.
At 5 amps: less than 2% ripple
Rating: 1 hour on, 30 mins off.
At 8 amps: less than 5% ripple.
Rating: 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off.

Maximum voltage: 40V.DC.
Never connect the Smoothing Unit to an AC power source.
Never connect the output sockets to the power source.
The input sockets of the Smoothing Unit are protected against reverse polarity
connection. This is important because if the electrolytic capacitors are
connected backwards, they will severely heat quickly and will be destroyed.
