Although you may carry some devices and installed batteries in checked baggage, transporting them in carry-on baggage, when practical is preferred. In checked bagggage, ensure that the devices remain switched off, either by builtin switch/trigger locks, by taping the activation switch in the off position, or by other appropriate measures. 2. Be sure to take protective measures to prevent short circuits. If original packaging is not available, effectively insulate battery terminals by isolating spare batteries from contact with other batteries and metal. Place tape across the batteries' contacts and put each battery into its own protective case or plastic bag. 3. All lithium type batteries contaning more than 25 grams of lithium or equivalent are prohibited from carriage on all passenger aircraft.
