Austin, Texas (May 6, 2016) – Pape-Dawson Engineers, Inc., is pleased to announce Mr. Derek
N. Mueller, P.E., as a new Senior Project Manager in the Austin office. Mr. Mueller will be a key
leader in our Austin office, helping to promote and manage Pape-Dawson Engineers’
transportation engineering services throughout central Texas.
Mr. Mueller brings more than 10 years’ experience in planning, organizing, and supervising the
design of transportation projects. Mr. Mueller first began his career as an intern in the PapeDawson San Antonio office where he most recently served as a Project Manager. His experience
includes traffic and transportation planning concepts including corridor studies, travel demand
modeling, innovative intersection analysis, multimodal quality level of service analysis, and
traffic signal timing. Recent projects include the City of San Antonio’s Downtown
Transportation Study, development of the San Antonio Complete Streets Checklist, City of San
Marcos Downtown Traffic Study, and multiple innovative intersection analysis projects in San
Antonio and Austin.

Mr. Mueller holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at
Austin. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and holds multiple precertifications with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Mr. Mueller is also a
member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and former President of the South Texas
Section.
