JUDGING:
The IJS will be used for Juvenile through Senior well balanced and short programs. All other
events will be judged using 6.0 judging system.
ELIGIBILITY:
All entrants must be members in good standing of USFS or Skate Canada. The competition is
open to ALL skaters who are full members of U.S. Figure Skating or Skate Canada. Test
requirements are as of July 10, 2013.
Basic Skills Competitor Eligibility: The competition is open to ALL skaters who are current
eligible (ER 1.00) members of either the Basic Skills Program and/or are full members of U.S.
Figure Skating. To be eligible, skaters must have submitted a membership application or be a
member in good standing. Members of other organizations are eligible to compete but must be
registered with the host Basic Skills Program/Club or any other Basic Skills Program/Club.
Eligibility will be based on skill level as of closing date of entries. All SNOWPLOW SAM and
BASIC SKILLS SKATERS THROUGH BASIC 8 must skate at highest level passed and NO
official U.S. Figure Skating tests may have been passed including MIF or individual dances.
For the Free skate 1-6, Test Track and Well Balanced levels, eligibility will be based only upon
highest free skate test level passed (moves in the field test level will not determine skater’s
competitive level). Skaters may skate at highest level passed OR one level higher BUT not both
levels in the same event during the same competition.

Entries to the competition will be made by signing up on the internet at www.entryeeze.com.
Click on The Rinx Summer Open logo. USFS # is required to register. Entries will close at the
end of the business day on July 10, 2013. The Rinx/SCNY Competition Committee (LOC) may
limit entries at each level and will close entries early if spaces for particular level(s) are filled.
Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, so entrants are advised to enter
early. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the LOC, and will require an additional
$20 late entry fee. No refunds will be granted for any reason (including medical) except for
events eliminated by the LOC
PAPER ENTRIES MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN July 10, 2013 and a $15
PAPER ENTRY FEE WILL APPLY. Postage metered mail will not constitute proof of timely
mailing. Incomplete entries will not be accepted. Space is limited and events may fill prior to
entry deadline. Late entries will be accepted at the discretion of the LOC, and will require an
additional $20 late entry fee. Age and test level passed are as of the entry deadline date. No
refunds will be granted for any reason (including medical) except for events eliminated by the
LOC

FINAL ROUND:
Final rounds will be offered for Juvenile & Intermediate IJS events.
CRITIQUES:
Critiques will be offered for IJS freeskate events.
AWARDS:
Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place
MUSIC:
CD’s only! CD’s must have only one track (music source) per CD, and should be in wav format.
CD’s should be clearly marked with name of skater, club and level. Please turn in 2 copies of
music at time of registration, and remember to pick up your music after event. No music left
behind will be forwarded.

Skaters may enter EITHER the new test track free skate program or the well-balanced track free skate program but NOT both during
the same nonqualifying competition. Competitors will skate to music of their choice, vocal music permitted. The 6.0 judging system
will be used for all Test Track events.
Deductions WILL be made for skaters including technical elements not permitted in the event description.
• 0.1 from EACH mark for each technical element included that is not permitted in the event description.
• 0.2 from the technical mark for each extra element.
