GESC’s Participant Commitment Form
As a participant of the GESC 2016, I agree that I will:






Interact in a polite and respectful manner with all participants, staff, instructors and facilitators of the GESC 2016
programme at all times;
Be committed to my studies: attend classes on time, participate actively and constructively during classroom and outdoor
activities, and complete all tasks allocated to me;
Take responsibility for my own learning and wellbeing: ask questions if there is something that I do not understand and ask
staff for assistance if experiencing any difficulties with study or life during the programme;
Obey any class rules or behaviour guidelines as set by the instructors and facilitators
Use UniMAP campus buildings and equipment in a careful and responsible manner;
Notify the GESC 2016 staff/instructors/facilitators immediately if I notice any threat or danger to the safety of myself or
others;
Harassment / Bullying & Discrimination
All students have the right to learn in an environment free from harassment, bullying and discrimination.
Along with this right, as a GESC 2016 participant, I have the responsibility to:


Show respect for others;
Keep the environment safe for myself and others. For example, if I notice any behaviour that may be considered
harassment, I have the responsibility to notify a staff member that I feel comfortable talking to.
Unacceptable behaviour that participants should NOT engage in any of the following activities/actions:







Making negative comments about particular ethnic groups or races (racial harassment);
Borrowing other student’s homework or notes without permission;
Name-calling or making unwanted comments about a person’s appearance;
Yelling, swearing or using offensive language;
Physical harassment – unwelcomed physical contact (touching a person without permission)
Verbal harassment – making negative or offensive comments about other members of the GESC 2016 programme, not
only within the University grounds but on the internet or via telecommunications.
Physical violence of any sort, including towards another person or property within and around the UniMAP’s Sg. Chuchuh
campus and UniMAP’s campus at large.
Declaration:
I realize and acknowledge that I am fully sponsored for this programme. I have read, understood and agreed to meet all of the
above requirements during my participation in this GESC 2016 programme. I acknowledge that failure to meet any of the above
requirements, at any point during the GESC 2016 programme, constitutes that I did not fully participate in the programme and
understand that I will be disqualified from the programme and I have to compensate RM1000 for the sponsorship fees that I
received.
