Required Inspections, Residential
The Building Permit must be issued by the Building Official, not simply applied for, and
payment to the Town must have cleared the bank prior to work commencing. If payment is
not made, the permit is cancelled retroactively and work must stop until payment is made.
A set of approved plans marked “site set” by the Building Official must be kept on the job site
at all times and made available to the inspector.
State Law places the responsibility upon the permit holder for notifying the Building Official of
required inspections . Although the Town of Beacon Falls will make every effort to
accommodate your schedule, please keep in mind the Building Official is part time.
Inspections should be planned and scheduled several days in advance. Typical inspection days
and hours are Tues, Wed, and Thurs between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, and other times by
appointment.
Inspection results will be E-mailed to you. If you do not receive an email within 24 hours, call
the Building Department at 203-729-4216 for the results.

arrange for an adult to be present.
