2014 “Lowest Cost Bronze Plan” Costs
Under the Affordable Care Act, most individuals are required to enroll in health coverage. However, there are
certain exemptions from this requirement. One of the exemptions is if coverage is unaffordable. To assist in
filling out the worksheet to apply for this exemption on your 2014 federal tax return, below are the costs of the
Lowest Cost Bronze Plan in DC Health Link, the Insurance Marketplace in the District of Columbia. Use these
numbers when filling out the worksheet in the instructions for the application for exemption, Form 8965. The
instructions can be found at: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i8965.pdf. You must also use the Second Lowest
Cost Silver Plan calculator tool at DCHealthLink.com/2014taxinfo to fill out the worksheet.
Plan costs vary based on the age of each enrollee at the time you would have enrolled. For example, if you
wanted to know what coverage would have cost you if you first enrolled in April of 2014, and you were 44 at
that time, the premium would be $194.01/month. The premium stays the same the whole year based on the
age you were when you first enroll for the year.
