Assistant   Professor   Lita   Sui   Tjien   CHEW
Asst   Prof   Chew   is   the   Head   of   Pharmacy   Department   at   the   National   Cancer   Centre
Singapore.
She   holds   concurrent   positions   as   Assistant   Professor   at   the   Department   of
Pharmacy,   National   University   of   Singapore   and   the   Chief   Pharmacist   at   the   Ministry   of
Health   Singapore.
She   has   practiced   in   the   area   of   oncology   for   more   than   20   years.
Her   practice   and   research   interest   includes   safe   handling   of   hazardous   drugs,   medication   safety,   medication   adherence,   pharmacy   practice,   workforce   development,   pharmacoeconomics   and   outcome   research.
Asst   Prof   Chew   is   the   Registrar   of   the   Singapore   Pharmacy   Council,   Chairman   of   the
Pharmacy   Specialist   Accreditation   Board,   and   Deputy   Chair   of   Pharmacy   and   Therapeutic
Council   in   Singhealth   Cluster,   Singapore.
She   is   also   member   of   numerous   boards   and   committees   in   the   Ministry   of   Health   Singapore,   Health   Science   Authority   Singapore,
Singhealth   and   National   Cancer   Centre   Singapore.
She   received   her   Bachelor   of   Science   in   Pharmacy   from   the   National   University   of   Singapore   and   Masters   in   Medical   Science   (Clinical   Oncology)   from   the   University   of   Birmingham,
United   Kingdom.
She   completed   her   fellowship   training   in   Pharmacy   Practice   at   the
University   Illinois   Chicago.
She   is   also   a   certified   practitioner   by   the   USA   Board   of
Pharmaceutical   Specialties   (BPS)   in   both   Oncology   and   Pharmacotherapy.
Ms   Chew   is   an   active   member   of   the   Pharmaceutical   Society   of   Singapore,   having   served   as
the   Treasurer   from   2010   to   2011   and   Vice   President   from   2009   to   2010.
In   recognition   of   all   her   contributions   to   the   pharmacy   profession   and   the   nation,   she   was
made   a   Fellow   of   the   Pharmaceutical   Society   of   Singapore   in   September   2015.
