Since 1950, WIREMAID has manufactured wire formed products for industry and
commerce including the electrical industry. WIREMAID has become a leader and
innovator in the design and manufacturing of guards for industrial lighting fixtures, fans
and equipment.
The product specification sheets that follow are intended to serve as an ordering guide
to Wiremaid’s line of emergency lights, exit lights, clocks, controls, fluorescent strips,
reflector guards, etc. Our staff continues to develop new products and pursue easy
installation methods, which is evident in the products we now feature.
Litegards are used in industrial and commercial applications where light fixtures are
subject to forceful contact. Construction is of tempered steel wire and resistance
welded in a rectangular or square pattern. They are finished in powder coated epoxy
and polyester, chrome or white. Coating is moisture and weather resistant. Other colors
and finishes are available on a custom order basis.

Strip & Reflector Guards
Specifications
LITEGARD fluorescent guards are constructed of tempered steel wire, resistance welded in a
rectangular grid pattern with standard lengths of 48" or 46" for T-5 fixtures. Two and three foot
fixture guards as well as special lengths are available upon request.
LITEGARD fluorescent guards attach to light fixtures using specially
designed clips or clamps.
LITEGARD fluorescent guards hinge from either side.
LITEGARD fluorescent guard WIRE GAUGES are available in
standard duty 14 gauge and heavy duty 11 gauge.
LITEGARD fluorescent guards standard WIRE SPACING IS 2.0" x 2.5"
LITEGARD fluorescent guards are finished in powder coated epoxy and polyester chrome or
white. Other custom colors and finishes are available on special order. Coating is moisture and
weather resistant.
Applications
LITEGARD - STANDARD DUTY - fluorescent guards can be used in classrooms, offices, lavatories,
kitchens, restaurants, stores, shopping centers and other locations where fluorescent light fixtures
are not subject to forceful contact.
LITEGARD - HEAVY DUTY - fluorescent guards can be used around machinery, workshops, factories,
parking garages, gymnasiums or any area where fluorescent light fixtures are exposed to forceful
contact and damage.
LITEGARD - INTERIOR DESIGN - application fluorescent guards can be used for decorative
purposes. Achieve a unique high-tech look with ordinary fixtures.

Attachments
Steel Clip For Strip Fixtures
1. Slide the supplied 20 gauge tempered cold rolled hinge clips on to the strip housing per drawing. Use two clips
per side placed approximately nine inches from each end.
2. Install strip cover plate and lamps.
3. Install LITEGARD fluorescent guard by inserting outside edge wire, one side at a time, into
hinge lock of clip.
4. T5, T8 & T12 bodies
LITEGARD fluorescent guard will hinge down from either side by slightly prying on clip guides on one side of the
fixtures and pushing the guard edge wire up and out of the clip.
Steel Hinge Clamps For Industrial Reflectors
These clamps are bright zinc plated 20 gauge tempered cold rolled steel. Holes are tapped for the included 10-32
x ¾" thumb screws. Four hinge clamps, two per side, are provided for attachment to the outside edge wire of the
guard. LITEGARD fluorescent guard will hinge down from either side by slightly prying on clip guides on one side of
the fixtures and pushing the guard edge wire up and out of the clip.edge wire up and out of the clip.
Nylon Or Steel Surface Mount Hinge Clip
This clip is used to mount LITEGARD fluorescent guards directly to ceilings or to the sides of any fixture or reflector as
per drawing. Fastening hardware (i.e. pop rivets, self tapping screws, nut and bolt, etc.) must be supplied by the
user dependent upon installation requirements.requirements.

Safety Light Guards “C” Series
“C” Series guards are the economical way to protect emergency lights, exit lights, clocks, controls, etc.
They are constructed of resistance welded .1875" diameter tempered steel wire. All models (except C3435) are of knock down design that fold to 1" depth for shipping and storage. Installation is easily
achieved by unfolding the guard and fastening to the surface surrounding the object to be protected.
Fastening hardware must be supplied by the user dependent upon installation conditions.

Industrial Ceiling Fan Guards
Industrial ceiling fan guards are constructed of tempered steel wire, using .250" diameter wire for
the spokes and 10 gauge for the rings. Ring spacing is 2.5". It comes delivered in four pieces,
two top halves and two bottom halves that easily assemble using the supplied 10-32 x ¾"
machine screws, nuts and mounting hardware. Available in powder coated epoxy and polyester
chrome. Other custom colors and finishes are available on special order. Coating is moisture and
weather resistant.

CG Series-Cage Guard
LITEGARD fluorescent guard CG SERIES is a reinforced ceiling mounted cage guard with closed
ends. Constructed with a .250" diameter tempered steel wire frame and .120" diameter
tempered cold rolled steel wire cage body resistance welded in a 2" x 2" grid pattern for
maximum strength and shock resistance. Nylon or steel surface mount hinge clips are supplied
for easy installation. Available in powder coated epoxy and polyester chrome or white finish.
Other custom colors and finishes are available on special order. Coating is moisture and weather
resistant. All four sides are tapered for strength and nesting to reduce shipping costs. Custom
sizes and grid patterns available. Refer to product work sheet for custom measurement
specifications. Allow 1" clearance around the entire fixture.
