Chart 1: Value of total construction work done, real trend data The decrease in Tasmania’s total construction work done was due to a decrease in the real value of engingeering work done (down 2.5 per cent) that was only partially offset by an increase in the value of building construction work done (up 1.0 per cent) (Table 1). Index: June 11 = 100, real trend data The estimated real value of total construction work done in Tasmania decreased by 0.7 per cent in the June quarter 2016 in trend terms and was 5.3 per cent below the estimated level in the June quarter 2015 (Table 2). Building trend In the year to the June quarter 2016, the estimated nominal value of residential building work done in Tasmania increased by 4.2 per cent and non-residential building work done increased by 13.4 per cent in the same period (Table 2).
