BSc must have at least 60 points above Stage II in the major and an additional 15 points from Stage III Science courses. 2. At least 150 points above Stage I, including at least 75 points above Stage II. 3. Courses from other Faculties (e.g. PHIL 101) will not be counted as Science courses in the conjoint. 4. If completing a double major the first major must include 60 points at Stage III and the second major must include 45 points at Stage III as outlined in the BSc Schedule. Students must meet requirements for each major separately and cannot double count courses. 2016 Regulations BCom/BSc conjoint degree structure and enrolment plan BSc Component BSc Component Degree Structure 1. BSc requires 255 points in at least two Science subjects defined as majoring subjects in the Science regulations. 2. The BSc must have at least 60 points above Stage II in the majoring subject, and an additional 15 points from a Stage III Science course. 3. At least 150 points must be above Stage 1, including at least 75 points above Stage II. Enrolment Pattern 1. The BCom/BSc conjoint degree takes a minimum of four years to complete. 2. You are recommended to enrol in not more than 135 points in the first year of BCom/BSc (with no more than 60 points in the first semester of enrolment). 3. Of the 60 points taken in the first semester, 30 should be for the BSc component and 30 should be for the BCom component. Of the 75 points taken in the second semester, points should again be split reasonably equally between the two components. For the BCom component, you should choose courses that are within the Schedule for your approved major. 4. If completing a double major, the first major must include 60 points at Stage III; the second major must include 45 points at Stage III as outlined in the BSc major schedule. Students must meet the requirements for each major separately. You cannot double count courses. 4. To complete in a minimum of four years, BCom/BSc students would usually enrol in 135 points each year. There is no requirement, however, to complete within the minimum time of four years, and students may enrol in a more manageable study load and extend the overall timeframe. 5. BCom/BSc conjoint degree requires 15 points General Education and 15 points from any available University programme (or from General Education). 5. The University of Auckland Calendar defines fulltime study as enrolment in no less than 100 points in an academic year or no less than 50 points in one semester or no fewer than 25 points in Summer School. 6. You must complete your General Education course from the Open Schedule or the Faculty Schedule available to either of your component degrees. The University of Auckland Calendar states that the maximum number of points a student may enrol in over a single academic year is 170 points (students can enrol in up to 80 points in each of Semester 1 and 2 and up to 30 points in Summer School provided the overall limit is not exceeded). 7. You are not advised to take the General Education course in your first year of study.
