18 July 2016 vl/results2016/Yr 11 results letter Dear Student Congratulations on completing your exams this summer. In a few weeks you will receive your results and the following details will hopefully make the process more straightforward. When can I collect my results? Results will be available for collection in the Atrium from 9am on Thursday 25 August. If you are unable to collect your results in person we will post them provided you hand in to the Exams Office an A4 addressed envelope with a large letter stamp. Results will be posted on the afternoon of 25 August. Alternatively you may authorise another person to collect results by filling in an authorisation form, available from http://www.stjohns.wilts.sch.uk/exams/results/ Please note that we do not give results to your parents or to anyone else without your permission. We cannot give results out over the phone. School is open until 3.30pm on results day and until 2pm on the following day, if you would like to collect your results later. Who can I discuss my results with? If you have an immediate problem with your results, or you were hoping to return to St John’s for a Sixth Form course, but your results are below those you required for entry, you will need to make an appointment for Thursday 25 August 2016 with a senior member of staff by telephoning the school (01672 516156) as soon as you have received your results. Please note that the school will be closed from Monday 29 August to Wednesday 31 August, although you can email SixthFormentry@stjohns.wilts.sch.uk during that time. This email address will be regularly checked and someone will get in touch with you. Mrs McArdle and her team will be seeing students with problems regarding their Sixth Form place on Friday 2 September between 1.00 – 1.45pm. If you have left school and you need further advice about your results you can get this online at https://nationalcareersservice.direct.gov.uk or call 0800 100 900 to speak to an advisor. What if I am unhappy with my grades? Once you have received your results you may wish to consider getting some exam papers back from the Awarding Body or having some papers re-marked. You can apply for either of these services using the Re-mark form at http://www.stjohns.wilts.sch.uk/exams/results/ Please note that there are very strict deadlines that must be adhered to for these services. All fees should be paid by cheque, made payable to St. John’s, Marlborough. When do I get my certificates? You must have your official exam certificates to prove your grades to employers, colleges or universities in the future. These certificates will not be received by the school until late in the autumn term. If you are returning to St John’s to study in the Sixth Form you will be presented with your certificates. If you are not returning to school, you must leave an A4 self-addressed envelope with £3 (not stamps) to cover postage. The school can destroy uncollected certificates in January 2018. May I take this opportunity of wishing you the very best of luck on results day. Yours sincerely Mr D P Rogan Assistant Vice Principal
