EVERYONE'S AN AUTHOR AT BEAUTIFUL SAVIOR LUTHERAN SCHOOL!
What is the Publishing Company? BSLS students have been learning what it
means to be published for the last four years! Books complete with illustrations
and biographies about the author have been created by all of our students with the
help of Beautiful Savior Publishing Company. Our whole effort is to help children
enjoy and feel comfortable expressing themselves through written communication.
"WRITERS ARE MAKERS OF READING!" Both processes stimulate each
other!!
Who makes up the Publishing Company? Our Publishing Company is a group
of parent volunteers who help put the books together for the students in all grades.
The work they do includes working with individual children on their stories,
typing, editing, making book covers, and binding books. The children are
constantly writing in their individual classrooms storing their best pieces of writing
in WRITING PORTFOLIOS for possible publication.
What happens once the books are published? When everyone is published at
the end of the year, we have a CELEBRATION OF GOOD WRITING!! Students
share their books with each other, family, friends, and relatives.
We Need You! We would love to have parents, grandparents, and friends, help us
in any way that you'd like. We start making covers in the fall, and start publishing
stories second semester. Look for our "HELP WANTED" ads. We can always use
volunteer help.
