CERTIFICATE II IN ELECTROTECHNOLOGY COURSE TYPE: Pre-apprenticeship COURSE CODE: UEE22011 DURATION: Approximately 12 weeks (4 days a week) Course Description Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start) provides entry level training for people wanting a career in the Electrotechnology industry. The aim of the course is to provide participants with the required prerequisite knowledge and skills to gain access to a wide range of apprenticeships in the industry. In particular, this course provide training in basic electrical theory, electrical workshop practices, wiring and basic installation skills, the use of hand and power tools and an overview of the Electrotechnology industry and the range of occupations within it. Opportunities Apprentices who take up this trade can work in commercial, domestic and industrial sites when qualified. This is a popular trade and has many opportunities when it comes to building and construction industry. Salary and employment prospects are excellent and there is always the possibility to run and operate a business one day. Entry requirements There are no formal entrance requirements for this course, however you should be able to read, write and understand basic maths concepts. Successful applicants will be required to complete enrolment documentation and must attend a pre-training review. Fees and Charges Fees for this course include tuition fees, text book fees and materials - White Card application fees are additional. Tuition fees are calculated according to the Higher Education and Skills Group guidelines for Government Subsidised Training. Eligibility for Government Subsidised Training will be assessed at the time of enrolment. Fee concessions are available for holders of a current Health Care Card. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer If you have skills or knowledge gained through previous study or relevant experience, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning and/or Credit Transfer which reduces the amount of training needed to complete the course.
