Mr Amos Haniff
I have been an employee of Heriot Watt University for fifteen years, enjoying research posts
in the former School of the Built Environment and Edinburgh Business School before joining
the School of Management and Languages in 2004. I am a member of the Heriot Watt
Alumni Society with over ten years’ experience as client representative within the
construction industry.
Besides being a member of Senate, I currently serve on the Postgraduate Studies Committee
and act as Deans’ Representative at progression and award boards. Outwith the university I
act as an external examiner for Dundee Business School and University of West of Scotland. I
have created and led programs delivered to undergraduate, postgraduate and executive
students throughout the university and industry. This includes the creation and
development of academic partnerships with universities across Europe and the development
of a number of industry partnerships, which has resulted in executive education, research
opportunities and graduate employment.
I am very keen to represent the interests of faculty and Senate at Court. I hope that my
experience and knowledge of the university would make me a suitable candidate. And I
would certainly hope that my dedication, motivation and enthusiasm would enable me to
fulfil the role well.
