Technical Information WKG-Derating-US-TI-en-15 9 2 Data Explanation 2 SMA Solar Technology America LLC Data Explanation Efficiency Profile - Curve and Measured Values The efficiency is the ratio of output power to input power and is given as a percentage value. This document describes the inverter efficiency in graphic and tabular form. The efficiency is given for the minimum MPP voltage, the rated input voltage and the maximum MPP voltage. Maximum efficiency and Californian efficiency The maximum efficiency is the highest inverter efficiency at rated input voltage. The Californian efficiency is calculated by weighing different partial load efficiencies and the full load efficiency at the rated input voltage according to the frequency in which they occur. The calculation formula is: ηCEC = (0.04 x η10%) + (0.05 x η20%) + (0.12 x η30%) + (0.21 x η50%) + (0.53 x η75%) + (0.05 x η100%) Derating Behavior Safety mechanisms are implemented in the inverter protecting the inverter against damage due to too high ambient temperatures or too high output currents. This behavior reduces the inverter output power ("derating"). In this document, the derating behavior of the inverters is shown in graphic form.
