“But I know all the chords and scales, why don’t I sound like I am
playing jazz?”: understanding jazz style through transcription.
Using the aural tradition to master style, phrasing, articulation, improvisation
and sound. Dr. Felipe Salles and students from his studio will demonstrate the

Keilwerth Saxophones Master Class with Dave Liebman
Dave Liebman will present a lecture on the breathing process, including
three-part breathing exercises and more. These concepts are important
for everybody, but particularly for horn players who need deep breathing
for sound production. These principles apply across stylistic and idiomatic
diferences.
