MISSION CRITICAL Air Conditioning Systems A company dedicated to the research, design, manufacture and application of Mission Critical Air Conditioning Systems is currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing and Applications Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be the lead person for the Product Design and Applications Engineering Team and conduct duties as outlined below. The position entails a substantial amount of contact with internal and external customers and requires a “sales” oriented approach. Technical knowledge of the HVAC industry, specifically precision cooling, is a must. Key Responsibilities: • Works with the Applications group to process develop orders to meet customers’ needs and provides cost effective solutions that impact the Design, Manufacturing and Applications of the product • Respond to requests from Consulting Engineers, our agents and sales managers for technical support, and production personal including; • Calculate performance data for special conditions and custom applications, • Present alternate solutions for precision cooling which align with our product offerings • Develop detailed technical bill of materials used to meet customer and manufacturing requirements. • Develop special options to meet customer’s specifications including Refrigeration and Electrical design • Maintain and update elaborate Excel pricing and selection tools • Effectively write configuration files used in multiple protocol gateways for building automation systems and test for operating compliance to meet our customers’ needs • Analyze Product specifications and design proposals to ensure products and applications are suitable for safe and reliable long term operations and comply with established industry safety and design standards • Maintain product ETL files • Work with MRP system and Equipment Selection Program to build routers for production • Manage the generation of Technical Data Sheets and Production packages used in the manufacturing of the products. • Develop and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and Rating Plates with the appropriate correct data. • Preparation of data sheets, technical specifications and technical packages for mechanical equipment during both tendering and manufacturing phases • Verification of project technical documents • Applying of Codes and Standards applicable to the HVAC line of business • Developing and recommending improvements in design standards and procedures • Assigning and outlining work to assigned support staff • Monitoring and reporting progress to senior management on technical problems • Accountable to review work for technical accuracy and confirmation that the deliverables are practical and workable in the field • Providing guidance to junior engineers and technical staff assigned to a common task 14 CHELSEA LANE, BRAMPTON, ONTARIO CANADA L6T 3Y4 • TEL: 905-405-0800 FAX: 905-405-0807 MISSION CRITICAL Air Conditioning Systems • • • • • • • On occasion, getting involved in the tendering and the construction phase to provide support to the commissioning engineers during the start-up and the performance tests of the equipment Generate job order requirements Provide technical assistance in new product design and offer components selections and cost effective solutions Work with other departments to investigate the application of new materials, processes and technical solutions to ensure the continuous improvement of quality, reliability and cost of products. Assist with Trade Shows Make recommendations to Management for improvement in areas of product design including but not limited to quality, cost and performance Assist in other general engineering and sales tasks as assigned Qualifications: University graduate in a related discipline holding a Profession Engineer of Ontario (P.Eng) designation with minimum 5+ years of working experience in a Canadian firm related to HVAC equipment manufacturing or applications Experience and proven track record in Product Manufacturing, Process Design, Refrigeration Design and Equipment Electrical Design Field knowledge and expertise to provide support during construction, commissioning, start-up and the performance tests of the equipment Understanding of Codes and Standards applicable to the HVAC line of business Demonstrate ability to be flexible, adaptable and work under tight schedules in a fast paced environment Practical knowledge and proven ability to adapt and apply procedures to unusual situations and to resolve issues Uses initiative and independent judgement in obtaining and analysing data and interpreting engineering specifications, handling deviations from standard methods, and resolving problems Capable of Conducting independent studies and analysis making interpretation and typical decisions HVAC industry experience with strong competencies in fluid and thermo dynamics.
