Reading/Language: Next week we will learn about the letter “Jj”. We will discuss formation and the sound that it makes. We will also celebrate Dr. Seuss and his birthday this week by reading several of his books and doing a few activities. Math: Next week we will work on 3-D shapes. We will focus on vocabulary and being able to describe each shape and the characteristics. Science/Social Studies: Next week we will continue to discuss how communities work. We will talk about people in our community and their jobs. Homework: Please remember to send your child’s homework folder back to school with them EVERYDAY so I can check to see if they need a new book or not. Remember that they WILL NOT switch books out everyday. They need to practice each book at LEAST two nights in a row to become fluent. Please either let your child know they are ready for a new book, or put a note in their folder so I can get them a new book. SPELLING WORDS ARE ON THE BACK OF THIS NEWSLETTER! Please help your child study each night. Our middle of the year benchmark testing is over and I will soon be sending results home. Please look over them and if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know so we can set up a time to discuss them. Please sign and return all pages and I will send you a copy for your records after I have received the signed original back from you.
