Annually deliveries for operation since 2010 Inset and elevated Stop Bars, Lead-On lights, RGL, Lead-In to gate. Reduced maintenance costs and power consumption. When Stockholm-Arlanda Airport in 2009 decided to update their taxiway center line lights, the environmental aspect was of high importance. A test installation in 2008 showed that SafeLED IQ lights meet the airport’s needs of high performance and minimal maintenance, and also support their environmental efforts to reduce energy consumption and CO² emissions. SafeLED IQ lights are used on circuits with fixed 2A and thereby minimize energy losses in cables and transformers but still having intensity by using the ASP power line communication instead of CCRs controlling it. Up to 85% reduction in power consumption has been measured for stop bar and RGL circuits with 7/24 h operation Switzerland - Geneva Airport Equipment: Quantity: Duration: Scope: Client objective: Selection Process: Page 4 of 16 SLIQ1 Over 1000pcs First installation in 2010 9 SB from 16to30 lights and Taxiway Center Line Reduced Installation Costs and Power consumption In 2009, Geneva International Airport (GVA) decided to renew completely their AGL system after 40years of use. Safegate offered the choice of using ASP technology to reduce the number of CCRs and to allow segment selection from ATC (TWR) for better traffic efficiency. In total, the airport is saving around 500MWh per year compare to previous installation. In 2012, GVA decided to continue to use our SLIQ for the apron. Around 400 pcs of SLIQ lights are installed in the Apron Area including Lead-In lights integrated with the SafeControl – Apron Management system. Can this number be increased without adverse effects on the airport’s safety level? It is a known fact that traffic volume will rise in the foreseeable future. More movements will demand monitoring of the entire airport. Requirements will be sharpened and the development of an integrated system controlling not only ground movements but also air traffic close to the airport is of the highest interest. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) already describes A-SMGCS, Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System, as the answer to the future modern airport need to control the entire airport space in one superior system. To a larger extent than today’s systems, A-SMGCS will rely on automated processes to give both pilots and traffic controllers exact information about positions and directions. Safegate Group delivers complete A-SMGCS solutions already, as well as all vital parts relating to it. Safegate Group can check your airport into the future – today!
