Vichy
Vichy, a spa town par excellence, is worldrenowned for its thermal springs and enjoys
a unique location with an abundance of parks
and gardens in which to relax. Horseracing,
parachuting, golf and prestigious operas are just
some of the activities on offer. The town’s heritage
is a wealth of surprises: beautiful residences and
townhouses, colonial and Oriental architecture
and, of course, the private residences of Napoleon
III. And there’s nothing quite like a gourmet stopoff at one of the many “guingettes” lying in the
shade along the banks of the Allier!

18th century stallholders’ market speaks of a time
when Ebreuil was a hub between Bourbonnais
and Auvergne.

Saint-Gervais-d’Auvergne

lovely Gothic church close to the square. And for

Viaduc des Fades
Jutting out like a giant above the mountains, the
viaduct of Les Fades has looked over the Vallée
de la Sioule for over 90 years. Standing over
132 metres above the river, this stone and steel
colossus was the world’s highest railway viaduct
for much of the 20th century.
