Astec Control Centers: The Strong and Smart Solution
Astec control centers and power rooms are super-durable and built to perform in the toughest environments. Inside is
the nerve center of your HMA plant. Astec control centers serve as command central for the entire plant. From here, the
process of making hot mix is controlled with our exclusive computerized plant operating system. Astec power rooms
house motor control panels and provide a clean, controlled environment for these components.
Our portable, relocatable and stationary facility control centers are higly functional work environments
and come completely equipped. All controls are factory-installed and fully tested prior to delivery.
Stationary and Relocatable
Choose any control center style for stationary or relocatable plants.
You can install these centers atop your existing foundations or
order them with a steel foundation. We build up to ten foot high
steel, relocatable foundations with walk-through doors and/or
garage doors for storage or work rooms. The control tower of the
Command models gives you a 360° view.
Portable
Standard Astec portable Turbo Six Pack® plants use the
self-erecting surge bin load. The surge bin frame has a
Command IV control center mounted on one end.
A variety of optional control center models, ranging in size
from 8 x 20 feet to 11 x 35 feet, are available in portable
configurations. They can be supplied with portable plants
instead of the standard center on the surge bin frame or
with any plant style if you prefer a portable control center.
Strong, Rigid Steel Frame
Our control centers and power rooms are built around
a thick frame of high-strength, welded steel. Move them
as often as you want. There’s no risk of warping. Even
moving a fully-equipped control center by crane does no
damage. The roof is thick 16-gauge steel, the entry door
is steel, and tough steel siding covers exterior walls. Steel
stairways, landings and rails are optional on stationary and
relocatable models. Portable models come with stairs.
Create an Ideal Work Environment
A central heating and air-conditioning system makes
the center comfortable when it’s cold or hot outside.
Insulated floors, walls and ceilings increase the system’s
efficiency. What’s more, a special reflective coating on the
roof helps keep the center much cooler in the summer.
Tinted windows provide anti-glare for the control house operator.
Three-ton air-conditioning units are standard. Five-ton
High-strength steel allows centers to be moved as frequently as
units are optional for the Command model line.

All centers feature acoustic ceiling tile for reduced noise
levels in the center. Windows are tinted and coated
with anti-glare material. Plenty of fluorescent overhead
lighting provides excellent visibility. A built-in ticket
window is standard with all models.
Removable interior wall panels make electrical inspection
easy. They are covered with soil-resistant vinyl material.
Rubberized floor covering provides good footing for wet
or muddy work boots and is ultra-durable.
The control center is a nice office space that gives the
operator an excellent view of the facility. The Astec
control center design reduces operator fatigue
and helps your crew perform at top efficiency.
