We offer vacancies for English language assistants, to perform in schools in Spain. 25 hours/week * from October to June * vacations according to the school calendar. Knowledge, skills and competences the student is expected to acquire: Learn how to be in a teaching environment coordinating with the English teachers and learning aspects of teaching languages to students. Another skill that the student is expected to acquire is how to communicate key concepts of the English language to students, such as phonemic rules and idiomatic phrases. Learn how to prepare lesson tasks and provide new and interesting materials for the teachers which aim is to improve the oral skills of the students. The student is expected to take away the experience of teaching English as a foreign language to students in an academic environment and aid the process of being able to pronounce words to a good standard. Furthermore, the student is expected to acquire knowledge of the Spanish culture and improve their communication skills in Spanish and in a working environment. Tasks the student will be carrying out: Help the English teachers by providing them with new materials for conversations. Play games and use songs to help the students learn English. Provide conversation practice. Assist the teacher in the classroom and help in the language department. Help in the audio-visual room. Teach the students about the traditions and customs of his/her country and also share experiences for discussions in the target language. Provide native knowledge of phonemic pronunciation of English and also teach everyday language in context. Answer linguistic questions. Help in other subjects apart from English such as science, art and sports. May be invited to participate in extra-curricular activities such as cultural visits, theatre plays or sports events. Help with oral examinations. Our organization will: Provide homestay accommodation, full board, in a private room, so students have their own space and privacy at home. Provide free transport from home to school and from school to home; Provide participants with a study grant of 150EUR/month; Provide a guidance tutor, to help and look after their welfare during their stay. Welcome the students at the airport; Provide an induction programme for the student at the start of the placement; Provide the students with a “guide for participants”, informing them on how the Spanish educational system works, and on practical matters to deal with the host families to build trust and to establish a good convivence and to facilitate understanding of the culture of the host country; Provide free online Spanish lessons to students with the necessary books and materials to follow the course;
