Screw slot ceilings offer a clean architectural appearance due to their narrow flange and flush appearing tile. Installing a standard grid ceiling lensed or parabolic louvered fluorescent fixture (shown below) into a screw slot ceiling may be viewed as undesirable from an aesthetic standpoint. This is primarily because the fixture sits on top of the grid, and creates a flat plane step up from the tile. Typical lensed troffer profile Lithonia offers parabolic and lensed troffers (shown below) with an optional screw slot trim to eliminate the step up from the ceiling tile plane. The RT5 was designed for universal application in both screw slot and standard grid ceilings and has the ability to enhance the aesthetics of the space in either application. In the screw slot ceiling the minimal flange and shallow arc of the fixture create an attractive reveal, and the fixture is seen as flowing out of the ceiling plane. RT5 profile
