Wilgous “Smitty” Smith Jr., 80, of Ceresco passed away
Thursday October 25, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. Wilgous was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on
Jan. 10, 1932. He was one of 12 children.
Wilgous retired from Eaton’s of Marshall in 1997. He also enjoyed farming and the outdoors. He had a lot of friends and enjoyed people. He was a member of the Nazarene Church, the Home Grange, and volunteered for the Newton Township
Fire Department for several years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Opal. They were married for 60 years. Also surviving are, his daughter, Leisa (Tim)
Clark, of Ceresco, grandsons, Brandon and Benjamin, and two great grandchildren, Ethan and Emerson, three sisters,
Maggie, Mae, and Judy, and a brother, Irvine. He was preceded in death by seven sisters and brothers. Wilgous will be loved and missed by everyone who knew him.
Services will be held Tuesday October 30, 2012 at 11am at the funeral home . Family will recieve friends from 6pm to
8pm Monday October 29, 2012. Interment will follow at
Newton Cemetery.

America.
