Do you enjoy cars and trucks, high-tech equipment, and hands-on activities? Find your future as a General
Motors service technician. The GM Automotive Service Educational Program is a strategic alliance be­
tween GM, GM dealers, and 63 carefully selected colleges and universities. This two-year associate degree
program will give you an academic foundation in math, electronics and analytics combined with advanced
technical skills.

• Two-year associate degree program

How you’ll master the skills
• You will alternate between working at a GM dealership or AC Delco shop and going to college.
• You can earn while you learn as you receive an hourly wage and are assigned to an experienced technician who guides and supervises your training.
• General theory and basic information are applied. Students learn how to identify, analyze and solve
problems.
• GM provides new vehicles, training components, and training aids.
• Instructors have real-world experience with General Motors, and many were once ASEP students as
well. In addition, GM provides ongoing instructor training to ensure professors are up to date with
new technologies.
• All GM ASEP colleges are National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence/National Automotive
Technicians Education Foundation (ASE/NATEF) certified, ensuring that training meets or exceeds
industry standards.

Requirements
• Students must meet all Greenville Tech eligibility requirements for the degree program and intend to
complete all academic and technical courses as required.
• Students must have and maintain a GM Dealership, GM Fleet account, ACDelco Service Center, or
affiliate sponsor by the first day of class and throughout the program.
• Students are required to purchase their own tools.
• Students are required to meet personal protective equipment requirements of Greenville Tech.
• Students must meet employment requirements for the company they will work for including valid
driver’s license and drug testing where required.
• Students are responsible for all program costs, including tuition, fees and books.
