Calculus I Lab Assignment #3 Do: Thursday, October 1 (During lab time) Due: Thursday, October 15 This lab assignment is divided into two parts. The first part needs to be completed before you begin the second part. Work in groups of two* when you complete this assignment and you must use the classic version of Maple. For each part, submit one printout with all group member names on it. Everyone in the group must contribute to the assignment. * Groups of three are acceptable if all three are actively participating in the assignment) Part 1: Reading and Practice Assignment: Read: Section 2.3, 2.4, pp. 25-32. Submit: Turn in a printout of the Maple commands and corresponding output for all examples on pages 25-32. That is, enter all lines in your lab manual that begin with “>” into a Maple worksheet. Execute these commands as you enter them. If the printer is not working, email your worksheet to your instructor as an attachment. Be sure to remove the output from your worksheet before attaching it. Part 2: Homework Assignment: Problems: Use Maple to complete the following exercises given in your lab manual. pp. 35-36: #16a, 16d, 17a, 17c, 18, 19, 20, 24 (a), (b), (e), 25, 26 Submit: Turn in a printout of the Maple commands you used to solve the problems (delete any unnecessary commands or meaningless output before printing). Where applicable, answer short answer questions after your Maple output. To enter text in Maple, use Ctrl-T to switch to text mode and/or save as a Word document first (see hint above) and then edit this Word document. Be sure to label each question on your work and submit them in the order they occur in the text. If the printer is not working, email your worksheet to your instructor as an attachment.
