as Samuel did. I am assuming this is the mother. Ancestory.com shows no spouse for Elizabeth in the 1850 census - but she
did own about $3500 worth of land. UPDATE: Mormon records confirm this. Also gives husband's name Daniel.

Company D, 19th Ohio Infantry Regiment - Private. He was a Farmer in Hocking or Hamburg, Ohio.
He fought in the Civil war and injured his hand, possibly shot through his hand, in a battle at "Stoney
Creek", Pennsylvania. Around 1925, a few years after his death, Samuel's 108 acre farm in Ohio was
sold off for around $7000 and split between the children. It was located off of "Old Hamburg Road",
around 1 mile NE of the town of Hamburg, Ohio - near Lancaster. His Grandson "Robert Halderman"
told me of the time they took a train to visit them, around 1916, and talked of the old Ice Box they had , and the baths they
would have to take in the kitchen once a week. Also joked that his wife's (Alice Halderman) grandfather, who was from the
south, was the one who shot his grandfather through the hand.
