simple solution through superior performance, low ownership costs, extended
interoperability and exceptional scalability.
Protected Vital Network Communications
With the KG-350, Layer 2 Ethernet transport technology is deployed
worldwide, carrying mission-critical information efficiently over an increasing
number of networked communication platforms. Our advancements in Layer 2
Ethernet technology eliminate obstructions during data, voice and video
transport, to create high quality of service network infrastructures that exploit
Layer 2 Ethernet transport and advanced encryption technology.
Maximum Performance
Networking at Layer 2 is protocol independent (independent of the Layer 3
protocol), which gives the KG-350 a significant performance advantage over
traditional encryption solutions. Mission critical application performance is
enhanced with Ethernet’s microsecond latency, providing the performance
needed for real-time applications and Layer 2 encryption-preserving
bandwidth. Layer 2 Ethernet’s lower latency increases mission-critical
information throughput up to 45 percent.
Microsecond latency for secure, time-sensitive, mission-critical voice,
video and data needs at encryption speeds up to 10 Gbps.
Other efficiencies include reduced
protocol-specific overhead and
eliminated generic routing encapsulation (GRE) for multicast and multiprotocol label switching environments.

Scalability
The KG-350 offers true scalability as it
conforms with NSA ESS v2.0 to enable
interoperability with other encryptors
using the same standard, e.g. the
KG-355, Raytheon’s 100-gigabit-persecond encryptor. With standardized
service, network complexity is reduced
for easy deployment and management
of thousands of devices.
The KG-350 achieves a simplified
network through streamlining security
policy management and eliminating
Internet Protocol (IP) configuration
management inefficiencies that
are found in conventional Layer 3
encryption devices.
Interoperability
Because the KG-350 uses Layer 2
Ethernet, which is transparent to
upper layer topology changes, new
locations can easily be added to
a network without changing the
networking and routing for existing
locations. Upon connection, new sites
can automatically communicate with
existing locations without impact
to the security configuration or
interruption to network connection.
Network architects preserve the
security infrastructure throughout the
transition, which is vital to agencies
as they plan migration from IPv4 to
the IPv6.
