JChrDD Vol 2 Issue 1 Jan-Apr 2011 Journal of Chronotherapy and Drug Delivery Editorial Dear Readers, We are happy to launch the first issue of Volume 2 of the Journal of Chronotherapy and Drug Delivery. In this issue, we have five review articles and three research papers. The first review is the second article in the Special Focus Series on Chronotherapy of Arthritis. There is another review on Chronopharmaceutics. It is a rather new field of development of formulations and drug delivery systems, that provide the drug at the site of action according to the chronobiology of the disease. In other terms, it is development of ‘Tailor-made’ medicine as per the requirements of the disease. In this issue, we have another Special Focus section on ‘Colloidal Drug Delivery’. In this section, there are two review articles about liposomes and niosomes, respectively. There are three research papers. This time, we have designed a new cover page for the journal, which describes the scope of the journal, graphically. Readers are requested to kindly provide their comments / suggestions about the cover page, as well as the quality of papers. For the use of new readers, I would like to elaborate the scope of the journal again. The Journal of Chronotherapy and Drug Delivery is being launched to give scope for the publication of papers related to chronobiology, chronopharmacology, chronotherapeutics, chronopharmaceutics and drug delivery systems. These are developing fields of modern medicine in western countries, whereas, Indian system of medicine, Ayurveda, has taken into account the importance of timing in administration of medication. Papers are also invited which throw light on chronotherapy in Indian, Chinese, and other such traditional herbal medicine systems. I request all the pharmaceutical scientists to support the cause of the journal by contributing research as well as review papers in these areas.
