Construction Industry Training Program
Overview
This construction industry training program is for those with little or no experience in the
construction trades who want to begin a career as a Construction Laborer. This program is nine
(9) weeks with a combination of 91 hours total of classroom instruction and 40 hours of applied
experience.
It is comprised of several levels instruction which allows trainees to perform many of the types
of construction work performed by Laborers such as, demo work, assisting carpenters, tool and
material set up and site clean up
Eligibility
In order to be eligible to join the training program you must:

Be at Section 3 income eligibility guidelines

Have the ability to understand construction procedures

Have the capability to perform the work
Completion of the Program
Upon completion of this session, participants should be prepared to:




Qualify for Apprentice Training
Enter CCAC Trades Program
Start your own business
Work with existing contractors
The Steps to Join the Program
You must first fill out and submit an application. Applications can be mailed to the address
listed at the top of the application. Once the application is received and processed, you will be
invited to a 1-day orientation.
There, you will be given additional information about the
program, participate in a hands-on skills assessment and be interviewed by a member of the
program.
How to Increase Your Chances for Employment
Community Empowerment Association and Maat Construction Group believe that completing a
training program offers participants the best chance of being a successful worker. Because of
this, alumni of our program are given priority (direct entry) over those who have not completed
such a training program.
